Dimensional travel... meeting other travelers possible?

Hi there! I am new to the boards, however have had an interest in the subject for a long time.

I had a conversation with a friend of mine about OOBEs and he related a story about a dream that he had once. He explained that he is usually is a very deep sleeper and usually does not remember his dreams but this one he could remember every detail except one (I'll explain later). The dream setting was himself back in high school (he is now late 30's) however he had all his present day knowledge. At first he would mention things such as the internet and the people in the dream would look at him funny. In his dream he then met a girl who seemed to have present day knowledge as well. However he could not remember much about her other than she was just there and that she had present day knowledge as well.

I told him that it sounded like to me (in my VERY layman's knowledge) that he possibly jumped into himself in another point in spacetime and met another traveler. What do you think?
