Everytime I start a post that asks a question I always watch it disappear with 0 replies (course this would be the second post I've started but that's besides the point).

I didn't see any questions in your actual post..so are you just asking if this was a OBE?  If that is the case I would say YES.[:D]

Sounds like you were in the RTZ, looking thru your eyelids is a good indication of that.

I have actually had to crawl away from my body before being able to stand up. [:P] Sounds like you did everything right, just need to keep up with the good work!

Practice, practice and then practice some more..[:D]

Lol:)  I think I can sleep better at night now knowing I'm on my way.  I guess my question was in the title and not in the post, hense the confusion.  Anyways, that's all I really was looking for, someone with a bit of experience to tell me if it sounded about right.

woot.

Woot is right!!! [:D]

Here's another.....whoooooooohooooooo!  yep you are right there!

Next time you find yourself out, just walk or crawl..hehe, away from your body a few feet and then go right back.  Each time go farther away and you will get use to exiting and reintering...THEN you can start going for the higher realms!!

I'm so looking foward to reading about your progress, it really helps others who are just starting out. [^]

Good-luck Blackstream!!

Well, blackstream, you're probably ahead of me, but I do know that you're experience has some signposts of AP that others have posted on this forum.  I'm starting to read more and more posts about people who use exit techniques as simple as rolling out of bed.

You've probably read similar forum posts yourself, and it makes me wonder if I'm doing things the hard way by trying to get out with the rope insted of reaching a state that feels like I'm ready to AP.

Yeah I know what ya mean LotusLegs, the rope technique would never work for me..I would always tense up, but then again I have heard that it works well for others.

It's all trial and error, I have learned alot from what others would call mistakes.  Just keep on trying other things..not too close together though, I found out that was a mistake..hehehe

It was something of a freakish occurance though, so I wouldn't say I'm almost there ;)  It happened the same way I had my couple of powerful LDs.  I'd wake up from a dream, realize that I'm paralyzed and free to go for LD (or OBE), and then go about my business.  It's useful and all, but that happens rarely, so I'd prefer to learn to be able to go from full awakeness to OBE.  I've attempted at various times of the day, but I always end up falling asleep, or laying there in a deep trance for a couple of hours till I get bored or ancy, lol.

Now, I myself have had doubts about whether or not obes were in fact LDs, or a beast of their own, but I'll say, the experience I had was significantly different to my usual LD, that I had my skepticism level quite lowered : )

At any rate, I'll just post my journal (with a few edits) directly.

I'm lying in bed with my eyes closed, just having woken up from a dream, in a bit of a daze, but really relaxed.  It's worthy to note that I'm lying on my side.  All my LDs and other such experiences thus far have been on my back, as I don't feel comfortable trying for anything in any other position.  But regardless, I was so relaxed, I didn't care.

I see my room through my closed eyes, though it's really dark and blurry, and I can only just bearly see it.  For some reason, I get ticked about something, and I channel all my energy from anger into intensifing that view.  It gets stronger and stronger until I actually wonder to myself for a second if my eyes are in fact closed.

Then, I feel vibrations in my body, and they get stronger.  They weren't very strong vibrations, and later on it occured to me that they kind of felt like cold shivers, except the vibrating was way way way too fast (and too long) to be a cold shiver.

I realize that I should be applying an escape technique right about then.  Unfortuantely, being on my back (well, on my side, but angling down at the floor), I can't use my preference, rope (my preference because it's the one that makes the most sense in my mind, plus the one I prepared myself to use).

So I imagine I am "slipping" out of my bed.  This actually kinda works!  I feel myself slipping like a few inches (while this is happening I am thinking of the phrase I should shout as I jump back into my body after a few seconds, something like FLYING!), but then I stop.  I worry slightly about what I might see in the astral.

For some reason, I'm thinking that now I am projected (and now I can no longer see Real Time Sight style... i.e. I am in effect blind), so I try to make me able to see.  To do this, I try and open my eyes.  Whoops.  I ended up opening my real eyes rather than my rts eyes.  My physical body opens its eyes, and for a few seconds, I try and digest what just happened.

Somewhere while doing this, I had a brief flash of my room as seen from astral eyes.  All I remember about it was that it was very blueish, and honestly not what I expected to see.  I'm not sure if it was a vivid minds eye flash, or if I actually saw it (my minds eye can be that powerful when I'm deep in trance, and it's really annoying sometimes :p).

Theories:
1) I was starting to project, but my fear kept me from finishing, then I forgot to, so I just stayed in my body.  When I opened my eyes, I ended the process

2) I was projected, but being so close to my physical body, we still kind of shared thoughts.  My physical body I guess thought it was the astral body then tried to open its eyes and brought back my astral body asap.  Theory 1 is mroe likely than this tho.

3) This was an LD exp.  I experienced the same kind of "fading" into the scene at the very beginning when I willed the scene to appear (lds always appear like that for me... slowing fading in).  Everything after that was all a LD that played off of what I expected an obe experience to be.  Honestly though, I have to discount this theory as I can usually tell the difference between my sensation of touch in and out of dreams (there isn't much at all in dreams basically), and just reality in general.  Still, I can't discount the power of my mind to create an experience like that.
