I am not familiar with it, but there are notes with each of the seven main chakras. Hit the note and you stimulate the chakra. There are also seed syllables for six of the seven main chakras. From the base up: lam, vam, ram, yum, ham, om. When you combine the note with the syllable, you get the strongest effect. You will have to experiment. I can never recall which notes go with which chakra, but conveniently they go in order. Conveniently, middle C is one of them. No sharps or flats, even. Good luck solving the matter. Try browsing the web if you are as I am, or if you know how to sing a middle C find out which chakra it hits. Go a note up or a note down. Maybe middle C was the base chakra. I don't know.

I notice the same thing with music. I'm in band, and it only happens when we play something especially well that day. It's like energy going up your spine, right?

To me the equation seems rather simple.  We are at or bases emotional beings.  Music is an expression of those emtions and as such cause an emtional responce when we listen to or make music.  It is not only the sounds that are produced but the feelings that go with them that cause our bodies to respond so.  Even the most off key individual can and does feel the same effects when singing.

Our emotions and energy are very close to each other, they are effected by each other.  Some emotional difficulties can be overcome with the proper use of energy just as some energy problems can be over come with the proper emotion outlet or control.  I do not believe one can not sing with out feeling the emotions that go with it and often people sing because of the emotions that go with them.

Music itself is a powerful tool.  We use music to express what is inside.  It is used to wrap ourselves in joy, and to heal the wounds that no one can see.  We also use it to gets excited, motivated, and to mellow us out.  The emotional responce we get from music helps our energies flow to were they are needed.

Music is not generated by fingers, hands, or vocal cords, but rather it is generated by the soul.  Every one does it wether they hum, wistle, sing, or play bag-pipes.

The only thing I've noticed when singing is that people cover their ears and run for the hills!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the high quality of all your replys.Like BONEChief I also get the same feeling when listening to certain songs... The feeling seems more powerful when I sing some songs. I think perhaps Tom is onto something with the frquencies of the charkra's. I plan to experiment a little - and if I find out anying new and interesting, I'll report my findings.

Hi Network,
I have a decent amount of experience with NEW and singing. I was gonna be a professional singer,(opera/musical theater) but decided to go for my 1st love. (Aviation). Before I start singing/warming up I do some basic energy work. Then work on my solar plexus and get it going for breathing. Then move up energy up from there into the lungs and then move that energy up into my throat. I do some specific work on my larnyx too. I find it helps keep the tension out of my throat and I can keep my voice better balanced that way. Then I do work on the rest of my throat/mouth/nose. Now when Im actually singing I try to feel the energy raising out of my lungs up through my tracea, and then up thru the vocal folds, then up thru my mouth/nose/back of head. I hope this helped some Network. :) Thats been my experience with energy raising and singing. :)
