Is this the general feeling or does it not matter to you guys how you are lying/sitting when you sucessfully (and conciously) project ?

Hello,

All of my projections have taken place lying down on my back. I've been working on trying to project whilst laying on my side (somebody on here said he/she did that), as I sometimes sleep that way. It still hasn't happened yet.

You should be able to project in any position. It is not the position that matters but rather if you are comfortable and able to relax. Your problem might be that you are too relaxed on your stomach and fall asleep. Also if you have it in your mind that you can only project from a certain position then you will find it difficult to project from another position. I have projected on my back, sitting up, and siting leaning forward. I mostly do it on my back but this is just because that is how I feel comfortable. I have read where people have projected from on their stomaches and from on their sides. Some find it easier to do it this way and some do not.

The back is usually easier for exactly the reason you mention - because you are less lkely to go into a deep sleep.  (Stomach sleeping is deeper.)  In my experience, when I started I needed to be on my back. Once I got 'used' to what it was like to project (although I am still working on a conscious exit; I only seem to have success from near-sleep or sleep) being on my stomach was no problem. In fact for a while it was easier because I could 'push' myself out with my arms.  I've been away from heavy duty activity for about 2 years and I think that as a result I need to start on my back again, until projecting once again becomes a regular activity.

You can do it from any position - I think it is the mental state that is important and your position will affect your mental state; so find the position that keeps you in the relaxed - but - aware state that you need.

My one time was shortly after I fell asleep on my side.

My 2 cents.

Patty,
Interesting.
You could push yourself out with your arm?

I had a side exit once and when i tried to push myself up, my arm went straight thru the bed, and i could lift a plastic bag which is shoved under my bed.  The smell of plastic was excruciating.
So do you mean, pushing yourself out with physical arms? or maybe both is possible, physical and astral?
Thanks

Hi Paola-

It seemed like that was how it was 'working' for a while. It was during a period when I more or less wasn't sleeping well, and so even on my stomach I was able to maintain a light sleep.

I meant my astral arms.  I don't know why the bed would offer support - maybe something like how solid we perceive these things to be in the astral realms. LIke how you can go through walls but you don't fall through the floor.  (Of course, I usually balk at walls, so I go through closed windows instead.)

I've never had small during an outing. Neat! Do you get that a lot?

Thx guys!

You have pretty much confirmed what I thought .... it's all in the mind (if you pardon the pun). So, it is whatever you feel most formatable with while not being able to just frop off into sleeo yeah ?

I think i am going to try all different positions so I don't get into thinking that I can only project if on my back (which is what i am thinking now but always find something uncomfortable/distracting lying on my back)

I do like the idea of using my arms to push me out of my body. who knows, now that i have though of it, maybe i tiwll happen tonight.

Cheers,
VM

The above statement was made by Fallen Angel and I agree with him.  I do, however feel that the sitting and laying positions are the most conducive to OBE and you should work at getting used to them.
