Hey guys sorry this might be a long read, but I had this amazing experience this morning. It was my first time CONCIOUSLY phasing and holding my awareness through the entire process.

OBE # 31
8:05am wake back to bed, phase method, laying on back, loud buzzing, electric frying noise, RTZ, familiar location, familiar people, focused on breathing

I woke up around 6:45ish due to my dad making noise while getting ready for work which is normal for me. I got up to use the bathroom and then got back in bed. I was focusing on my breathing and basically just trying to fall back asleep. I rolled over about 4 times and couldn't fall back asleep, but by now I was pretty relaxed. I looked at the clock and it was 7:30. I said, "okay this is what I do, I practice this every day, I want to project." I rolled onto my back and continued focusing on my breathing and just noticing the blackness behind my closed eyelids. After some short amount of time I heard the familiar loud buzzing, screeching, electrical frying noise in my head. Up until now I never knew exactly what this noise was, but now I know I can phase when it comes. I've been experiencing this during sleep since before I knew what the nonphysical was. I felt my awareness change, I felt like I sunk into my bed, I actually got scared because I still wasn't 100% sure I was phasing or what this noise was, but the feelings accompanying it felt familiar. I easily switched back to the PMR and I felt myself rise and the noise subdued a bit. I was laying in blackness again and I knew I was safe so I relaxed and let the noise come on again. It did, and it starts out in pulses, loud electrical pulses in my head, and gets louder and stronger with each pulse and I usually make it stop before it gets too loud or annoying, but this time I let it go. It finally turned into a more solid screech rather than pulses and now I felt myself sink again. I knew I basically separated because the noise was gone and I knew the familiar feeling so I decided to use an exit technique.

I felt myself get light and floating upwards. I could barely see, but I knew I was out. I got a few glimpses of my ceiling and fan and then my floor. I landed on the floor in my room and I tried to get in control. I stood up and went to the door. My vision was white/grayish and hazy. I kept floating up and to the left unintentionally. I saw a few pictures on my wall that are right where I was in the PMR. I tried to say "clarity now!" but had trouble and couldn't say it. I decided to turn around and try and see my physical body in bed since I've never done this before and I wasn't sure how long the experience was going to last since I couldn't even get in control. As soon as I looked where my body would be on the bed, I was back in my body laying in blackness.

I laid completely still and didn't move. I let the noise come on again and felt the sinking feeling and I knew I could separate so I floated up and out. This time my vision was a little better I guess because I was just out, but I was still having a hard time controlling the expereince. I said "clarity now!" multiple times with very little success. For some reason my voice has not been working in the NPMR anymore. I used to say this phrase with great success all the time. I was able to open my door and leave my room. I remembered another way to focus my awareness which is to look at my hands. They looked real and I could see the lines and everything. I looked at them for a few moments and then rubbed them together. My awareness was increased a lot and now I was in control.

I went down the hall into my living room and turned left to go to the glass sliding door which leads to deck. It looked like it just snowed, the trees were covered in a fresh coat, and the ground was all white. I decided not to go outside so I turned around and asked for a guide. Again I had a lot of trouble talking so I just gave up on that. I looked at my hands again for a reminder of what I was doing and then I decided to go downstairs. As I was going to go downstairs I heard loud breathing and I stopped in my tracks and just observed it, I figured it was my physical body and I was sort of bi-located, but I had no other awareness of my body. I went into my mom's room and saw her laying asleep on the bed (which she was in the PMR) I flew around her room for a minute and then decided to leave so I went back upstairs into the living room. I exited my house easily by going through the glass front window. I had some doubts about being able to go through it as I was approaching it, but it didn't stop me and I had no problem going through.

Outside was the same as I had seen it earlier, it was white and covered in snow. Now that I was in my front yard all of a sudden I floated up really high and fast to about 500 feet above my house. I had trouble seeing since I was so high and everything was white. I was able to come back down to the ground. Now the ground was still white, but the trees were green and had leaves. I decided to fly down to the end of my street. I had difficulties flying and could only fly for a certain amount of time until I came crashing down in to the ground and then I would have to start over. This happens in every one of my experiences I guess I haven't learned how to stay up yet. But anyway, once I made it to the main street I wanted to try and fly to the store which is on the other side of town. I lifted off the ground and was looking up and I was headed straight towards the electrical wires. I got scared and had second thoughts of passing through the wires so my flight stopped and I came back down to the ground. I saw my neighbor up on a ladder working on the wires I almost just went through.

I figured since I couldn't fly there I would take a car. So I stood in the middle of the road and waited for a car to come. A truck came about 50mph around the turn and I stood there with my arms up and my hands out telling him to stop, but he flew right past me. I tried one more time and they also drove past me. I was kind of annoyed by this, but it probably wasn't a good idea anyway. I was still very aware, but it started getting a little more dream-like. Suddenly I was back in bed and woken up from the garage door closing because my dad left for work.

So this was a great experience for me the only questions I have are..

1. Why did I hear myself breathing? (bi-location?)
2. Why can't I talk anymore while obe? (maybe because most communication is done telepathically?)
3. Why do I suck at flying still?

Thanks for reading!

Great job. Thanks for sharing. Good catch on the breathing. You can read Robert Bruce about the split mind effect and it may shed some light on why you would have sensory input from both "locations."

So cool!

I used to consider myself a minor authority on this matter but since I found this website, I'm realizing that I am still very close-minded and it is preventing me from the best benefits or even realizing some of the benefits, so to speak.

With that said, the breathing you heard may very well be from your dual awareness or you may have heard something that you thought sounded like breathing and so it instantly became the sound of breathing. It's so strange that everything is so matter of fact in the NPR because thinking truly makes it so. It's like answering questions with a question in a way.

I think when we have these experiences, the only context we have to make sense of anything in the NPR is gained of course from the physical reality. So even though you know flying can be easy, you still find it hard to believe that it is that easy. I still have trouble today when I want to change my environment in the NPR just because nothing is that easy in my normal reality.

Anyways, since you now know you can project with intent, it won't be long before you too are a minor authority. Happy learning...
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

Good point. I forget sometimes to question everything and jump to the first explanation. I need to keep my mind more open and not be so quick to put everything into a box.

2) Because you no longer have vocal chords... lungs and there is no air to vibrate your non-existent vocal chords. Also... it's not telepathic... that implies communication between us in PMR. As for saying 'clarity now'... just saying it isn't going to achieve anything. You need to mean it... have intent. You need to anchor yourself within the nonphysical to 'experience' it more vividly. A way I have done it in the past and which seems to work very well for others is to rub your hands together and blow on them.. sounds rather silly but it works a treat. Not only does it anchor you to your nonphysical self but it also merges you more 'fully' within the nonphysical environment. Other ways to anchor yourself is to be interested in your surroundings.. touch objects... be immersed.

3) Learn to walk before you can run... or rather... learn to be consciously nonphysical before performing tricks. Flying is fun and quite an amazing sensation... but it soon becomes a meaningless metaphor for getting from point A to #. You seemingly can experience flying anyway. Imagine if your life was ruled by your daydreaming and random thoughts... well when in the nonphysical state... it is. :)

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Bedeekin, I did find that looking at and rubbing my hands together did work! but I will have to try blowing on them as well next time if I'm having trouble haha
I will also try having more intent when saying "clarity now"

I think I just need to become more comfortable maneuvering and navigating through the NPMR with practice.

Also, I didn't think about the possibility of the breathing noise being my interpretation of another noise in the NPMR. I think that's because most of my experiences are pretty quiet once I'm out of body.

Bedeekin

They do tend to be predominantly quiet... you are so right.

I used to use a point and click metaphor for flying and generally navigating when airborne; I want to be 'there'... I intend to be 'there'...and I would go 'there' in one fluid motion... or to pull the destination to me. I once described that movement to be like a giant rubber sheet thumbtacked to a flat surface at its four corners... intending to be at a destination is like mentally pinching a remote point in the sheet and stretching it to oneself... then mentally letting go of the area you are in and 'twang' you are there.

On a complete side-note... A few years after using this metaphor I met a guy who claimed to have worked at Area 51 on saucers. He explained the propulsion system of an ET saucer the same way. The UFO picks a point in space... triangulates gravity amplifiers to that point... the gravity grabs the point and pulls it to the saucer.. then it essentially turns the 'engine' off and 'BANG' it's there. He actually used the same rubber sheet metaphor. Crazy.

Bedeekin that's pretty awesome!

Do you normally have quiet OBE's? Mine are extremely quiet. Usually I only hear a "bang" when I pass through a door or window. Other than that maybe a few noises every now and then but it's dead silent... Is this something that tends to happen in most astral realms you think or more in the RTZ?

Lionheart

 Congratulations Justin!  :-)

I always had faith that you would be successful.

You asked the right questions and have been participating here for a quite a while now.

Here's to many more successes!  :-) :-) :-)

When I used to experience RTZ I would actually hear the sounds of the environment if I listened. They were distorted. I distinctly remember on many occasions hearing the birds tweeting away at 4 in the morning and the noise of a milk-float with its tinkling bottles. Usually I would hear a distorted noise that would more accurately become the source of the noise only upon noticing what it was.

Yes they are predominantly silent. Occasionally I have heard music or rhythms... choral type music or electronic sounds and usually those types of noises would have a reason or point to them. Ambient sound seems nonexistent; which is actually the way it is really.
I would also here noises accompanying the perceived action of going through walls and objects. Usually a 'FWAP' type noise or a crackly hiss... depending how fast I went through them.

AstralCody

Same here. I have heard some music before and it happened very randomly. Same kind you mentioned. I wonder if the noises are really there, but I am so excited and happy I totally space them out. I have heard what sounded like a aircraft hover above me in my yard. Not like any type of aircraft here. Very hard noise to describe.

Thanks Lionheart that means alot.

Bedeekin that's an interesting way of moving. When I first started going to the NPMR I didn't know how to move. I would separate and be lying in my bed and it was very difficult to move, I ended up looking at my bedroom door and and trying to think I was moving towards it or it was coming closer to me. Once I figured out how to move on my own I haven't tried that since.

And also the only sounds I have really heard are bangs, music, or now my breathing once

And this morning upon waking up I tried doing the same thing and I just slightly heard that buzzing noise at one point, but it was quiet and as soon as I realized I was hearing it and focused on it it went away. Probably because I was getting too excited, but at least I know I was close
