Creating astral helpers???

I have been milling over an idea recently that would involve entering focus 2, activating all my energy centers and streaming my energy into a simulacrum of myself that could aid me in exiting my body.  I seem to have the hardest time getting "out", but as soon as I do I can basically just drift back in as many times as I need to.  Anything I could do to aid myself in this would be insanely helpful.  I could simply enter my usual deep trance state and call out or attempt to contact my copy, and ask for aid.  I have also been struggling with staying in F2.  I have had some amazing experiences recently, very vivid and very awesome, but I seem to struggle with maintaining this state.  My typical time spent after a fully conscious entrance into F2 is about 2 minutes tops.  I could also use my copy to aid me with energy that I have stored in it.  I realize that the copy would only be a concept, and the energy is only a concept created by myself within F2, but if it works, why not??? any input would be awesome.

edit: I forgot to mention that when I exit the main reason I believe I come back to F1 so fast is that my mind just cant believe what is happening, and is questioning it so highly that I exit.  I really have no control over this yet, but I suppose over time I will.

Hi knightlight

What you describe as creating a "copy" of yourself reminds me of a technique called "building the body of light".  I think both J. H. Brennan in Astral Doorways and Ophiel in The Art and Practice of Astral projection describe the technique.  You create the "copy" by visualisation exercises over a long period of time.  This actually creates a real astral entity.  The copy needn't look like yourself, though it might be easier to visualise a self-copy.  Then you can either transfer your own consciousness into it or instruct the "copy" to run errands for you on its own!  Well that's the theory anyway!  :D

yes ive heard of this, but do you folks think it could aid me in "leaving" my body?  Would it still be floating around doing whatever when im not there, waiting for me to contact it?  I've had a fair share of experiences, and ton of lucid/near lucid dreams, but ive only had a total of about 10 minutes worth of fully focused control in the astral, and im assuming I would need more time than that.

Don't know if it will suit you, but it is supposed to be a viable technique, one which is not mentioned much on these forums, probably because its roots are in traditional occultism.  The only way I suppose is to try it and see!  I've never felt too inclined to try this technique myself.  Personally I have no idea what the "copy" gets up to whilst you are "away" from it.......!  But then I have no idea what my own "astral self" gets up to most of the time.  I've been seen by others whilst I was asleep, but have no recollection of it...  Sorry can't be much more help......!

Yes I guess this technique would follow the lines of traditional occultism.  I guess I take a purely pragmatic approach to stuff out of F1   .  I guess I would just have to be really specific about its purpose and make sure to keep my focus on its goals during its creation.  I guess initially I would have to give it a set of commands, which would be easy enough to limit its ability to do any damage.

Dont harm.
Obey me.
Aid in my seperation.
Aid in my ability to stay seperated.
Sleep when I am away.
Come when called.

I think that would work for initial sub routines.  Any suggestions?
