Hey all. This may have been asked a lot, and this may not be the best place. I'm not sure how many EVP experts are on this forum. But I am after buying a digital voice recorder that people have had good experience with with doing EVPs. I've seen some on other forums but they're quoting old model numbers that aren't available on amazon or wherever any more. I also really like the idea of the live playback option where you can listen to whats being recorded as its being recorded. Also after one which can record in wav or pcm and not limited to mp3.
What recorders to people use on here, who have had some really good results from? I'm hoping to spend less than £50 if possible.. bit poor, but really wanna do it :)
You can use an android phone app. RecForge lite is free and the gain is variable which helps in quieter locations.
If you're good with electronics I can give you something to build that was very useful way back.
Thanks :) But I don't have an android phone :( I'm useless with electronics as well. booo
See if you can get one with Wi-Fi. They are far cheaper than a purpose built recorder.
You must know a friend who could help.
Szaxx is right; you can get an android phone from your friend.
You can get decent digital voice recorders for 20 - 50 dollars.

Thanks guys, tried the app you suggested as the other half has an android phone. No EVPs yet.. but will keep trying!
If you get one, let us all have a listen.
Hey Boom! I specialize in EVP. You can use anything really... A cellphone... a cheap recorder... it really doesn't matter how the cheap the recorder either.
Here's some tips though.
Turn off all electronics before doing a session.
Make sure all noises are off. Choose the quietest room.
If i sniff during the session I make note of it in the session I will say like "I just sniffed"
If you don't get anything don't give up! Spirits are everywhere so there's no need to go to a graveyard. In fact my house is the perfect place.
Ask a lot of one liner questions like yes or no answers. It's easier to determine what is being said.
If you have any questions let me know!
