From what I've read it is possible to attract negative entities , but the vast majority of these are relatively harmless. What's more, negs are attracted by and feed upon negative thought energy, e.g. fear, so if you don't fear them and/or make a show of courage they are usually dispelled. Something to keep in mind is that negs are attracted by fear or what have you regardless of a person's involvement with spiritual practices (as in they're around whether we notice them or not) and by developing your innate higher abilities you are better equipped to combat them.

In general, keeping a strong positive outlook and quelling your fears should protect you from all but the most serious of negative entities, and you're unlikely to encounter those in your travels unless you do some serious long-term and far-out journeying. If you do encounter difficulties with negs, you're already familiar with the best resource for finding ways to deal with them: this forum! So don't be afraid and good luck in your journeys.

Ok, thanks for the info, it has distilled some of my fears and I am not scared of them anymore but what about people who say that they feel an entity trying to rip them out of their body through their feet?  What is that all about?

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and it doesn't matter to me where you put my topic as long as you don't delete them.  I honestly wasn't scared to do this before I did more in depth research on forums and people were talking about all the bad things that can happen to you but I am no longer scared because 75% of the people say this is untrue, so I am going to try this tonight.

    This is probably gonna get flamed for being off topic, but what are they other techniques that you need before you try to do your first one, i.e. meditation, energy increases.  Tips on these would be greatly appreciated.  PM me with tips if you want.

Ask for help from a positive being, such as your spiritual guide.  I can't off hand think of an instant in which I have heard that the evil entity overpowered both the projector and the spirit guide that was with them.  There is an inherant power in good that is not easily overcome.

The cases you are seeing on here are very rare cases. The Web is vast and search engines pull this site up because for one it has money invested in it and two it is immensely popular, thus you see so many of these cases here. The link below will show you what I mean.

There is no need to worry. 99% of the time you are not going to run into a neg powerfull enough to cause you harm. Matter of fact, most of them can attach to you without a hitch and take some energy from you without any side effects on your own being.

You need to invest some time into Robert's books on Astral Projecting and Psychic self defense. They are really handy to have when learning about things like this.

There is really no reason to fear most Negs. They are pretty harmless from my understanding, I think I even have an attachment.
You know those little birds that always ride on a rhinos back.. they are not really doing anything, just along for the ride, using the rhino to better survive. Thats kinda what they are like.
Besides you could kick a Negs a*s with out much trouble from what I heard.
I think that possibly the Negs attract more powerfull, darker things though. So I would say they arent some thing good to have around.
I have, or had one on my leg.. and since then there has been some wierd energys "floating" around my house... but I am not sure.

You should go read the permanent astral topics, I would suggest the phasing, and the Triangle methods. They seem to work pretty good for me.
Dont get discouraged if you dont project right away, it took me about 3 weeks.. and I dont even remember most of it.

I've been going through all of the forums and reading lots of topics that could help me with my first OBE, but recently I have been reading about all these "evil" entites that will invade your house and possess you and your family and I really don't know if I like that.  It is kinda driving me away from have an OBE.  Also this is the only thing I think I am going to do.  I am not going to do magick and stuff that would invite evil entites to attract to you.  So my question is:  Can you attract such beings from being on the astral planes and just exploring that?  I'm also planning on doing meditation and Mental Viewing.  Any tips or anything would be welcome.
