During some of my more memorable projection attempts I'd experience incredible pressure/pain in my abdomen and along the sides of my torso. (Timed with pulling and vibrations.) The pain wasn't bad but the sensation of pressure accompanying it was unbelieveable, like fingers digging into muscle from the inside, etc. (Really not as bad as it sounds! ![]("http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif")

Anyway, I'd vote for symptom, but I wasn't there.

so does anyone have any tips on what i can do if it happens again?
it was actually more painful trying to get back into my body then it was staying out.

Start learning how to protect yourself. Look at the thread "why not just shield" in this catagory. The astral is like anywhere on earth. The likely hood of being attacked, or stalked is small, but it does happen.
You can make or do just about anything on the astral. Use that. Read a lot on this catagory, there is a lot of great advice. Get busy.

This started out, I was dreaming I was in my flat talking to my flatmates about a ghost that was hanging around. I turned around and saw the ghost which looked like a normal middle aged man, this startled me awake but out of body floating above my bed. Straight away I notice that it feels as though some one is digging their fingers into my stomach, and left butt cheek! I tried to wake up but this made it very painful like the fingers were digging in deeper, not wanting me to go back to my physical body. I tried to move into the astral but this didn't work either though the pain got less. I ended up gritting my astral teeth and forcing my way back to my body even though it was VERY painful.
Can any one tell me whether this was an attack of some sort or just some weird projection symptom? ive felt hands against my back once before after projecting next to my bed but it didn't hurt or anything. Also, has anyone else felt any pain whilst obe.?
