I mentioned this technique a while ago in response to a question by someone wanting to clean house. Having done an amount of contact healing in the past one method that I use on occasion is to extend the healing energy beyond my finger tips and with the intent to feel resistance when coming across external connections during the brushing movements. When resistance is encountered I will then apply that same healing energy to clean the location, sometimes I will follow the linkage using the same technique in order to gather more info.

I've also discovered that pointing towards an object at a core attachment point, such as the back of a pen or pencil, somehow disturb the energies, in a similar way to brushing.
I have also done this, sometimes when starting I might be holding a pencil or pen and using the above method the object works almost in a pendulum manner in that it responds to the 'obstruction' and as it has a point it is also useful for removal :)
I too note the immediacy of the brushing method, a simple brush stroke will sometimes clear what appears to be a major intrusion leaving an area feeling very clean and free.

These two major techniques work similarly, a banishing ritual creates a clean, sanctified space around the aura, and holds the negative influences back.Brushing identifies/localizes and weakens the neglinks.
Previously I've been doing one banishing ritual, Setting of the wards of Power + the technique called the Tower of Light. Now I've skipped TOL (for the time being) and used the brushing technique instead.
Now I start my ritual sessions with the brushing, and end the session with visualizing blue light and red light descending down through the crown centre via the psychic centres.
I've started to just experiment with the brushing technique on freehand, targeting (what I've found to be) the main areas, that is the head, the area between the eyes and the lower back.
For this technique to be most effective, it seems one has to be fairly well relaxed, so one doesn't strain while brushing. I've tried using the Yoga position "Deathstill", where you lie relaxed on your back, palms up. This position is good for general brushing over the body, or determining areas that may have core attachment points. For points where core attachment points are felt strongly, it seems that a more intense brushing technique is recommended.
I once tried using a towel and used it to scratch my temples rapidly, after some minutes the buzzing disappeared and a lighter feeling followed.
I've also discovered that pointing towards an object at a core attachment point, such as the back of a pen or pencil, somehow disturb the energies, in a similar way to brushing.
I've not yet used a paintbrush, but I would like to try using a softer one, as this is perhaps the most effective in identifying finer attachment points.
I'm going to try to experiment more in this area, trying to find what is the best way to use this technique.
Anyone here who can give any good advice on this technique from experience?
