holy reality

would you post those two names and how to pronounce them?

and did you meditate upon them believing or expecting them to work, or were you just skeptical but open minded?
!..............!

There is both a demon and angel which correspond to each of the 72 names of god. Would you like me to post them?

By teh way which book are you finding the 72 letters in. Some books don't have them in the same order.

KAF HEY TAV – Remove Negative Force

MEM HEY SHIN – Healing

The Hebrew letters are the key. All you're supposed to do is look at the Hebrew letters from right to left. Your soul/spirit/higher self is suppose to know what it is and what to do with it. Sort of like a program for a computer. You don't need to believe or even understand what the Hebrew letters are but you do need to have an open mind to it. If you have doubt it might block the flow to your soul/spirit/higher self.

I got the names from a book I got from Kabbalah.com called Power of Kabbalah. I also got another book that lists all the 72 names and there purpose.

Xander if it not to much trouble I would not mind seeing the demon and angel names

Cruel Tendencies

The 72 names that you're referring to are actually one Name of Seventy-Two.  The Name is taken from 3 verses in the Hebrew Bible; Exodus 14:19-21.  Each verse contains exactly 72 Hebrew letters, and they're combined to form 72 triplets of letters which all together make up one Name.  In order to make the triplets, you take the first letter of the first verse, the last letter of the second verse, and the first letter of the third verse, which gives you the first triplet in the Name.  You continue in the same manner, taking the second letter of the first verse, the second from last letter of the second verse, and the second letter of the third verse, etc, etc...

Using Divine Names for meditation and magickal purposes isn't to be undertaken lightly – it requires both the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, and a relatively deep understanding of the mystical meanings of each letter.  Each Hebrew letter represents, among other things, one basic state of change.  Combining the letters in various ways creates specific concepts of abstract potential, which can be channeled into the world through meditation on the Names or through pronouncing them.

While it's true your Higher Self recognizes what the letters mean, the same can be said about everything else in the world.  However, it takes a conscious understanding of the letters and Names in order to make use of them.  Your Higher Self already knows the meanings behind the letters – that's not the point.  Looking at the Tree of Life, your Higher Self is Tiphereth, and the letters are created from the astralstuff of Yesod.  They're subconscious ideas that in order to be channeled into Malkuth must be recognized and understood by the conscious mind.  I don't mean to be critical, but this is typical of why I don't care for the Kabbalah Centre.  They water down truths and make them more "pleasant" for people, in order to sell books and merchandise and make people believe they have abilities that in reality take real effort to gain.

If you're interested in learning about meditations dealing with Names of God, I recommend "Meditation and Kabbalah" by Aryeh Kaplan.  It should be noted, though, that it's definitely *not* light reading, and you should probably read "Jewish Meditation" and "Meditation and the Bible", also by Kaplan, before getting into it.  There's an entire division of Kabbalah that focuses on the ecstatic/meditative methods dealing with letter permutation and Divine Names, but it's really not something that can be of use if only dabbled with.  Also, while I'm plugging Kaplan, his commentary on the Sepher Yetzirah is *the* best one out there, and makes it readily understandable to the student.  The Sepher Yetzirah is probably the oldest Kabbalistic text in existence, and deals explicitly with the Hebrew alphabet and its role in Creation.

So anyway, 99% of the time, it's really not a matter of simply looking at the letters.  They must be understood, and meditated on individually, and when they are, one can see the essential role they play in everything in the world.  </end rant>

Cruel Tendencies – Thank you for your insight on Kabbalah. I am new to Kabbalah and my first exposure to it is from the Kabbalah Centers web site and a few of their book. After I finish reading the books I have I will look into getting the books you mentioned.

The material from the Kabbalah Center does seem to be written and presented to the public in an easy to swallow format with a "New Age" after taste. I don't think there is anything wrong with this as it has its place. From what I have read so far it is a good place to start. I would not have been introduced to or even know about Kabbalah if not for the Center. Now as I learn about Kabbalah I can branch out to the more advanced material.

My above post about just looking at the correct 3 Hebrew letter combo is based from the book "The Power of Kabbalah" page 192 - Power of Scanning

Xander – thanks for your post of the names.

I'll second the recommendation for Kaplan's works. Kaplan presents a good, solid foundation, in contrast to much of the more dubious interpretations and interpolations presented in the name of "Kabbalah" by practitioners of Western occultism.

By the way ... 72 names = lifetime of learning ... I've spent days, weeks and years just meditating on and gaining understanding from the Tetragrammaton, YHVH, and AHYH, in the context of God's dialogue with Moses (MShH = HShM, Moses reveals The Name, God and Man meet on the mountain ...). I could write page upon page based solely on my meetings with The Name!

And then there's YHShVH, a whole new book (or New Testament) ...

I just started learning about Kabbalah and the 72 names of God a few days ago and last night before I when to sleep I was meditating (really just staring at them) on 2 of the 72 names. The first one is used to remove negative forces and the other one is for Healing. I was using the first one to help remove any negative energy and attachments to my energy body. The second one I decided to use to heal any unknown damage or illness that I might have in or on my physical body.

Over the past year I have had 3 separate days where I had a sharp pain in my right side in the kidney area and the pain lasted about 12 hour each time. When I woke up this morning I passed a Kidney stone without any pain at all! My wife said it was just a little bit smaller than a baby tooth and very jagged! I cannot help but think that the 2 names had something to do with it. It seems strange that 9 hours after staring (mediating) at the names I would get rid of a kidney stone that appears to have been with me for more than a year.

Is it possible that I dislodged a neg that was attached to my kidney or just healed a kidney problem?

I just thought I would share this with everyone.

Anyone else use the 72 names of God and would like to share their experiences?
