Intuition - gut feeling, is probably the most valuable resource we have in these kind of things. Appearences of things in the astral are always subjective, and depend greatly on what your thinking at the time, so I wouldn't try using ideas like looking into the eyes. That might work here inthe physical world well enough, but it isn't as reliable in the astral.

Let your heart tell you what is to be trusted and what isn't.

You mught also want to search back through early posts made by Frank in the OBE forums. He was possibly the most skilled and experienced astral traveller we've had on this forum, and he has spoken of contact with astral beings a few times.

It might be worth pointing out here that Frank never felt cause for concern with any of the beings he met. He always approached astral travel with a feeling of mild curiosity only, and never went in thinking he was going to find one thing or another.

I say this because if you travel into the astral with the thoughts that you are going to meet evil entities, you will more likely than not create that situation yourself.

Since I don't have much intuition yet, I still rely on looking at their eyes (when they have eyes [|)]).  But I must agree that, from times to times, I can spot their intent right away; I just know...  But I don't control how it happened.  Or maybe it's my mood that makes them appear or behave the way they do.  Who knows...

But I like the eye trick; it's like a game for me.  Each time I spot some guy(s) that pretend, I can see the "fear" to be discovered into their eyes.  Then, they see that I might have guessed their intent; and they become agitated/confused because they don't know what to do.

It's a bit like watching a little kid trying to lie...  []

Astral travel can be used as a means for communicating with spiritual entities, so I'm told.

Now, considering that jinns/demons have shape-shifting abilities and can mimick the look and demeanor of spiritual beings, how can one effectively discriminate between sincere spiritual beings and negative beings that want to deceive unsuspecting projectors?

Some say that intuition can give you a hint as to whether or not the entity confronted is negative or positive, while others say that looking into the eyes(a dark and/or clear aspect is what supposedly comprises the look of their eyes) of a negative entity can yield an uncomprimising result.

Does anyone know of a more concrete way of determining the true identity of the entities that one may confront in the astral? Or have I pretty much summed it up with the conjecture above...?
