Dear Friends
I am presently in the process of getting ready to cross the Atlantic on a 38 ft sailboat. I expect that the trip will take me north from Antiqua, then east, passing south of the Azoers and then on to Gibraltar. I expect a month at sea will do.

Recently I read a very interesting story of  Joshua Slocum, the first man to sail alone around the world in a small sailboat. South of the Azoers he had a OBE type of experience and was helped by a man who called himself the "pilot of the Pinta"

The story is here

What do you thing everybody,  is there in your opinion more or less, spiritual activity at sea than on the solid ground?

My experience is that when I get out at sea, it is very easy for me to have OBEs , as far as Lucid dreams they are almost daily (nightly) it may just be me or my own mind being conditioned but what do you all think.

I would also appreciate the prayers and energy and good wishes from anyone who feels lead to send them my way. Actually I am quite scared about it, but then again it is said that courage is not absence of fear but conquest of fear. If you are interested I will have my wife post my progress every 3-4 days as posted on a link to Google earth. Any takers?

Wow, that sounds amazing. Whether or not OBE's are involved, it sounds like the experience alone would be a highly spiritual one. How many people get the chance to do something like that?

Bon Voyage!

Thanks Stokie, I guess when it really comes to it everyone who wants to can do it, like anything on earth. Years ago I decided that instead of just dreaming about all the stuf one could do I would do it. After that I climbed the Everest, explored the spiritual life of Swamies in India, crossed Afghanistan in an old beat up car, etc etc Life is wonderful dont you agree, its just waiting for us. Its a matter of priorities.....what is your dream? I bet you have a good one. :-D

That is something I've always dreamed of doing. I would enjoy traveling across the Pacific to Japan. I asume it is my inner Californian. But being only of 17 years, I believe it may be some time before I take that journey.
I'd rather spend my life attempting to make myself happy rather than prevent myself from being unhappy.

DH

Hey, maybe I'll try to project out over the ocean and see if I can find you!  Seriously.  DH   :-)

I am trying to work it out so my wife can post a location chart fixing my position and posts on a Google earth chart. What do you think. By all means try something. Would love to have a visit. I am pretty scared but nevertheless the glove is cast no way out now. Ha

You've climed Everest too? That's absolutely amazing. I went through a phase where I read all the books on Everest I could find. I have a lot of respect for someone willing to go through that much torture to get to the highest spot on earth - it sounds worth it.

Well, in 2004 I did get a chance to live out one dream - I saved up some cash (I don't make a lot) and drove around the US with a friend for 3 weeks. We left from Georgia, went up through the midwest, across the plains, through the Rockies, into the desert, to California, and circled back around through Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc...  All US time zones and climates were experienced. I forget exactly how many states, but it was a lot. Over 6 thousand miles traveled.

Next stop.... Japan!   ...one day

I'd love to follow your progress via google earth. What cool technology we have today.

Hey, the chart would be a nice touch if you all can work it out. You have my prayers. DH
