Ideas for clearing a space?

Hey All...

I am going to help a friend cleanse a rental house (that used to be her former house) of Negs and residual negative energy.  

...I was hoping to drum up a topic on house-clearing, in general.

I have methods--like grounding the house, asking for blessing, smudging with sage, etc.  And I have read Bruce's section on space-clearing.

But I was wondering if anybody has any ideas/methods for space-clearing that they've found particularly effective that most of us might not know about.

Also, I guess I'd be interested in seeing what works best for different people.  I generally know what works for me, but I'm looking to expand my repertoire (as I've been dealing with Negs a lot lately).

So what works for you in clearing a house?

Hi dreamosis, a great book you might like to purchase is called "Sacred Space" by Denise Linn. Things such as smudge/incense (picked fresh and made yourself is more potent, especially if you learn to work with plant spirits), sound (bells, drums etc), ritual, prayer, Holy symbols/statues/paintings, feng shui, etc.
 One method I remember is using a small branch of a tree (not sure which kind) to sprinkle Holy Water (easily made yourself from water and salt) around the room. Make sure you ask the tree spirit for help before taking the branch and clearly state your intentions. Also perhaps a small offering (nuts, grain etc) as thanks for its help.

I've heard of some wiccans using a witches Broom to clear out old energy. Again, making the broom yourself after having learnt about gaining the help of tree spirits might be more potent.

McArthur is correct in the need to respect the forces and consciousness of the Tree/Plant etc.  A heartfelt thank you is mostly all that is required.

I clear by standing in the middle of each room and bring White Light into me then pushing it out around the room until the room 'looks' white as white in the mind's eye.  After all the rooms have been prepared I stand in the middle of the house/building and repeat the process so that the White Light energy is pushed out to the boundaries of the property.  Lastly, I place a shield of my own around the entire area.

I once asked a very clear Psychic I know if she would check the house to see what they could pick up.  I didn't tell her what I had done as I wanted her real responses.  She came back to me shortly saying that the house was crystal clear, and then she asked what had I done to get it like that.

Never had any problems with using this easy method.  And, I truly think that each and every one  of us have the ability to do this just as easily as I do.
