Okay, so my life was completely normal about 3 months ago.
now its not.

its seriously complicated and i'm not sure that half of you would believe my story so i'll keep most the details out.

basically, i met someone who has alot of experience with ouija boards and for some reason i felt the need to make a board and try it with my friends. we have met some really nice spirits and its been a wonderful experience. as we met more i began asking if it was okay that i write down information about them for a story (fiction story) that i wanted to write. most of them were okay with it and some just didn't want me to use their names. two spirits in particular were helping me the most with finding information i would need to write. it was so inspiring. i was told by a spirit who i believe is my guide, that i should finish the book and try to publish it.

now up until he said that i always thought my story writing was just something fun to pass the time. now i'm starting to see that it is a hidden talent and a dream worth chasing.

so here is the problem. four of us made the board and carved our initials in the back of it. my boyfriend, two of our friends, and myself. our two friends happen to be serious drug addicts and started acting really shady around us. my boyfriend and i didn't appreciate the lies or negative energy so we have not talked to them for a few weeks now. i have the board, but we don't think it will work without our friends. so we have been trying to keep an open mind for our guides to contact us. i feel like something is supposed to be happening, but i'm stuck in a spiritual lull i guess.
so i'm looking for ways to talk to them again without involving my drug addict friends. this is important to me. ever since this happened i feel like life is worth living and i don't want to lose that happiness i found.

i'm asking for help or advice. i felt that the wonderful people in here would not think i was crazy. this is real.

So you tried the board without your friends & it didn't work?

Have you ever thought that maybe your friends were the ones making it move & not spirits?

kittipryde

we have successfully used the board without them, but that was before we stopped talking to them. i guess my fear is, that since we aren't friends and their initials are on the back of the board we won't be able to get any spirits to respond to the board.

Your belief that you need the other two is what's holding you back. You dont need them.

My dad said he was in contact with a woman named mary via a ouija board for over a year. The first time a few of them used the board but after that it was just him.

You just need to believe. Let go of any doubt that it will work.

If you're interested in other ways of contacting spirits you might want to look into EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). I keep meaning to find out how to make a device but I always seem to have more pressing things to research.

Hi Andrea,
I don't think ouija boards are a good method to get to talk to your spirit guide. Everywhere you can read warnings against using them. I have just read a story about a man who used it and at first it was fine, but after a while he got bad problems with poltergeists. Usually the spirits you contact are from the lower astral planes and they like to have some fun with gullible unexperienced people. You give them access to your energyfield to be able to communicate with you and you have no clue who the spirits are. They can tell they are your spirit guide, while they are not. I wouldn't recommend using it unless you're very experienced or in company with someone who is. Well, that is my advice.  :-)

i appreciate all the responses!

as i said before, when i met my boyfriend he was already very experienced with the whole ouija board thing. if he didn't know what he was doing, i doubt i would have done it. he has been doing it for years now... ever since his father passed away.
also, none of the spirits have told me they were my guide. i just know that i have one and it may or may not be one of the spirits we have talked to. so i guess i am trying to grow spiritually and get to know my guide so i can feel more confident in what i am doing.

keep posting your thoughts. i love being able to talk to everyone here and get your advice.

I suggest not leaning towards mediumship, you're bound to get a lot of lies. And it makes sense that drug addicts would attract lower astral beings. Just because it says nice and comforting things does not mean you can trust it.

You'll find your guide by listening to your heart, not a board, and it will never lie.

I agree, I've read everywhere that ouija boards are not accurate, dangerous even, when used to contact spirits from the other side.

Now this gets into the area of divination and not so much contacting your spirit guide, but one thing I've always tried using for supernatural answers to questions is a dowsing pendulum. I've watched my mom use it when I was a kid, and now I do so myself and it really helps me with answers to some of my questions. You hold the pendulum above the open palm of your other hand and very gently move it in no particular direction while asking what your "yes" and "no" answers are at this time. For me, "yes" is usually a circular swing while "no" is usually a back-and-forth swing. You can then ask it yes or no questions, as well as asking something like "on a scale of one to ten, how true, beneficial, etc. is something?" and the pendulum may swing in a straight line at certain angles radially to denote a 1 through 10 scale. That's at least how I've used it.

It's very important to be calm, relaxed and as neutral about receiving your answers as you can before you start, and I heavily advise against asking questions about the future, as they may not be accurate and you may wind up scaring yourself. I've found (and my mom as well as various alternative healers have told me in the past) that for the best results, you ask the pendulum about questions relating directly to you - your health, how beneficial or not beneficial someone or something is to you, etc.

Wow, sorry, this turned into something totally unrelated to contacting your spirit guide! Sorry *sweatdrop* But I suppose you could ask the pendulum about your relationship with your spirit guide, and how to make it better or what the most beneficial ways to contact him/her are at this time.

But yeah, I'd advise looking at the links above. I think I'll check it out too, since I myself need to contact mine as well. Thanks, Timandra!
