It can also be a source of psychic vampirism. When a child, for example, is traumatized by the parent their can be a link forged by which the parent can feed from the child and even avoid karma by passing their karma upon the child. The symptoms of this can be obsessive thoughts, mechanized behaviors, etc. Psychologically it can cause depression and in extreme cases suicidal tendencies and insanity. Often it is one persons attempt to use the other as a food source. A freind of mine said her mother admitted to her once that she hated children adn yet had 5 kids, successfully feeding on them having had them for that purpose. Her mother had said this while in a drugged state so whether or not it was subconscious desire bleeding into conscious choice is debatable.

I appreciate the feedback and totally agree with you.

In retrospect, a lot of the chording I've seen came from the parents behavior towards their child while it was very young.

I have had quite a few encounters of this. The encounters I have had were to create negative energy in a person, depress and take away all their energy. phsychic vampires are the main cause of this, as xander pointed out, but I have also seen this used in people who can astral project, or project out of body.

I have been able to severe a few of the ones I encounter but they usually come back into place anyway.
