I don't know of Master Chou, it is possible for 'masters' to be energy leeches, whatever the case it sounds like your guidence is telling you to get out.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

The term "Master" is usually reserved for someone who is a Master of thier self and is used both in Eastern and Western spirituality. One of my favourite books is called "The Zelator" by Mark Hedsel and he referrs to his teachers as "My Master". This is not because that person is a Master over him but because one takes on a Master like a Master takes on a student. To have such a relationship with a True spiritual Master is indeed a boon (i know nothing of the guy you mention though so i can not comment). I can see why some dont like the term though.
The pose with the right hand held up is a well known Hindu hand pose which roughly means "Fear Not". You will see Hindu deities such as Shiva holding this stance as well as various Eastern Gurus etc. Its a little more involved than this but that is the basic meaning.

Seeing as i have a book on holiday with me that describes that hand pose in a little more detail i´ll type some of it out for those interested. Its from the excellent book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell and is describing what the various gestures mean on a statue of Shiva doing the Cosmic dance;

"Briefly: the extended right hand holds the drum, the beat of which is the beat of time, time being the first principle of creation; the extended left holds the flame, which is the flame of the destruction of the created world; the second right hand is held in the gesture of "fear not", while the second left, pointing to the lifted left foot, is held in a position symbolizing "elephant" (the elephant is the "breaker of the way through the jungle of the world", i.e. the Divine Guide) ; the right foot is planted on the back of a dwarf, the demon "Non-knowing", which signifies the passage of souls from God into matter, but the left is lifted, showing the release of the soul: the left is the foot to which the "elephant-hand" is pointing and supplies the reason for the assurance, ´Fear not´. "

"Fear not, for all rests well in God. The forms that come and go- and of which your body is but one- are the flashes of my dancing limbs. Know me in all, and of what shall you be afraid?"

Hi Lisa Marie
  There are some good books out upon healing your chakras. I have just read one called Basic Psychic Healing that teaches methods to remove chords, cleanse your auras, open and shut the chakras etc. It is really popular now and can be found in bookstores.

Master Choa is highly respected among AUTHENTIC practioners of healing arts
(99% of which practice an eastern discipline rather than "laying on hands" with no background or qualifications). If you don't like him then don't train with him. I have second level Reiki from someone in the Takada lineage, and my teacher(who initiated me) speaks highly of his system and methods. My teacher did say the classes(in L.A. I believe) are advanced though.

have you been back since? maybe they were doing something out of the ordinary that day. maybe try asking someone about it: that might help you. but still, if your instinct tells you to leave, then leave and don't look back.

Secret of Secrets

Lisa Marie

To anyone who may have ansewers about this.  I recently went to a pranic healing location in New Jersey USA. A friend of my family who knew I was interested in healing work recommended it. Matter of fact she went on and on about this guy Master Choa.  So I went to the center.  The people seemed nice enough but they were kinda strange how they would refer to this guy as "Master" I don't know it just felt like somethiing wasn't right.  Also there was a picture of him with his right hand raised like he was taking an oath.  This picture is everywhere you look. It gave me an eerie feeling.  It almost looked like he was draining energy out of the room.  I do not know much about energy work and astral dynamics is this possible that he could be draining life force from a room full of people doing a meditation?  His name was mentioned in the meditation also.  I could be totally wrong just wondered if anyone else has had any experience with this Pranic Healing Course.
Thank you for any info  you might have
