Questions about orbs.

I was wondering about orbs, I know they come every once in awhile when you sometimes do energy work, but why do they come then? Why does energy attract them, and when you notice them or see them, why do they tend to dissapear quikly? Ive seen about 3 of these orbs at night and Ive been wondering about them.
