I dont actualy practice this, but I have tried it and its a great grounder, and way of energisieng your arua if after the 5 steps you have mentiond you imagne energy passing from your head to your feet down your front as you inhale to the count of four and as you exhale to the count of four the energy rushes from your feet up your backn to you head again. Reapet the proccess four times, then do the same with the energy rushing down one side of your body and up the other. Finaly release the muly rainbow coloured energy by allowing it to spray like a fountain from the top of your head, filling your whole arua, you can then sit and bask in the glory of your newly energiesd aura [:)]

One question why does the chant use the names of hebrew gods?

Rob

Hey
I like the middle pillar exercise, and have had a good experience with LBRP, but I generally use the base chakra instead of the genitals [;)].
I With middle pillar, I use the one as set out by Israeli Regardi, I think was his name...

Hi Majour Ka,

It uses the names of Hebrew Gods because its from the Golden Dawn ceremonial magic, which tends to focus on hebrew/kabbalah names.  However, you could substitute names from other cultures and religions which mean the same thing.

If you could use any culture, why not use your own?

Over time and with repeated use sacred symbols and sounds become the focus points for higher energies,ie they are connected to them, and so have intrinsic power within them. Some languages like hebrew can be used as a kind of sacred language - but also in that their tones and sounds have stregnth of their own, like sacred geometry does (different in that their power comes from their own ability to manipulate the local environment using shape and sound, ie no human input, like in nature).

The site linked says;

"Step 6. Do the Circulation of the Body of Light. See light go up your right side, down your left side, three times, in complete circuit around your body. Follow this with up the back, down the front, three times. And finally, around the body, counterclockwise, followed by a shower spewing from the top of the head to land on the ground, three times."

But i actually do this much more times than that. The Circulation of the Body of Light is the most important part of this ritual. All the rest is the set-up procedure where you invoke/pull down light from above. Its kinda like giving your aura a good work-out and repair/maintenance etc. It definitely works for me. In fact i dont tend to even use the god-names anymore. You can do a session of NEW then do the Circulation of the Body of Light with similar effect if not better.

p.s. i just did a quick basic google search trying to find a pdf version of Israel Regardies' book online but couldn't find it. I did find the following site though which has links to more info on it - i add it here because it also links RB's New Energy Ways just below it!

Something i forgot to mention, that i use occasionally, is another Golden Dawn technique added onto this. It is a combination of the 4-fold breath and the Tetragrammaton (Four letter name of God, YHVH.) While doing the Circulation of the Body of Light (up back, down front, up right, down left etc.) you mentally intone the words Yod, Heh, Vav, Heh.

i.e. While inhaling and drawing light up ones back from feet/Malkuth (which takes 4 seconds) mentally intone Yod. Hold breath and concentration at Kether/Crown chakra for 4 seconds while mentally intoning Heh. While exhaling from Kether/Crown chakra down to feet/Malkuth for 4 seconds intone Vav. Hold breath out at feet/Malkuth for 4 seconds while intoning Heh. Do this for as long as you choose then move onto doing it up right side, pause at top, down left, pause at bottom, using same 4-fold breath and Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh etc.

Not only are you fortifying your aura with Light but also with the Tetragrammaton/Name of God.

A good pronunciation guide may be found here: http://www.hermetic.com/heidrick/hebrew_pronounce.html

Btw the Golden Dawn advice to anyone visiting someone who is ill or depressed was to do this ritual just before the visit.

--> Yes and no, it don't work for all gods imagenable. In the hebrew names is the presence of vocals, like "Aoom" for example. And these vocals are the energy enhancers. That's why you must vibrate them anyway.

In case anyone is interested, here's one method I found which seems to work well.

One day I was driving out on a dark country road at night.  Similar to an experince from two months earlier, I started feeling my fear increase, and felt as though my fear was somehow melding with the atmosphere of the area.  I wasn't sure if it was just the look of the countryside at night or an actual neg trying to influence me, but nevertheless I started doing the Middle Pillar Ritual to dispell the effects.  I worked quite well, I felt as if I was much more cleansed afterward, along with a greater presence that pushed away the fear.  Here's the exercise, taken from this site:

http://www.livingwithmagick.com/MPR.html

Step 1. Focus your attention just above the crown of your head. Visualize a sphere of brilliant white at this point. Vibrate the God name EH-HEH-YEH three times.

Step 2. Now visualize a slender beam of light descending from this sphere through the center of your head, and stopping at the hollow of your throat. Here visualize a ball of lavender light. You should visualize both the brilliant sphere above your head , the small ball of light at the base of your neck, and the beam of light connecting the two. Vibrate the God name, YOD-HEH-VAHV-HEH EL-OH-HEEM, three times.

Step 3. While continuing to visualize these, see a beam of light descend from the ball of lavender at your throat, go down thru the center of your body, and form a gold sphere at your solar plexus. Vibrate the God name YOD-HEH-VAV-HEH EL-OH-AH V'DAH-AHT three times.

Step 4. In like manner, visualize the beam of light descending to the area of the genitals and form a violet sphere. Vibrate the God name SHAH-DAI EL CHAI three times.

Step 5. Descend the light to the feet, here forming a black sphere. Vibrate the God name AH-DOH-NYE HA-AHR-ETZ.
