I'm hearing things.

So a couple weeks ago, i was reading a book for my English class when i heard someone call my name. It almost came from within my head or very close to my head for that matter, but it was quite clear. So clear that it startled me and i put my book down to check each area of my room. I felt like something was trying to contact me, but i didn't quite know what to do, so i tried communicating through thought in my head. I know that sometimes when you're sleepy your mind starts to wander and you'll hear things that you're thinking about, but this was different because i was 100% awake and focused on my book. Sometime this week, i got into bed ready to sleep and after a few minutes i heard like an abrupt creaking sound. I have read other posts on experiences similar to this, so I'm thinking it may be my spirit guide. Any ideas?

When we're reading, especially a good book that we REALLY get into... we can drop into an alpha state very easily.
In this state, it's very normal to pickup on stuff like that.

It's probably akin to a light Focus 10 state.

ahh okay i see. usually i can tell what it is when i hear things like this when i'm about to sleep. this probably seemed so different because i felt so awake. thank you!

Btw, i'm not sure if this is relevent, but if you remember reading about my first OBE experience, when my vision started to become bright white light, i saw a girls face in the middle, kind of like i was watching a movie. The voice that i heard call my name was female in particular, so i was curious as to the possibility that the two may or may not be connected?

Could be... but then that's really up to you to figure out.

Also forgot to mention that she was singing but i wasn't sure what she was saying, but it gave me this strong sense of peace. It was quite the experience actually, especially since it was my first OBE experience. Anywho, thanks Xanth mah dude.
