Really weird experience

Anyone experienced anything like what I;m about to recount? I remember talking to someone years ago about it and they said something like that happened to them too, but I can't remember who it was!! Doh.

It was back in the late 70's and I was washing up in the kitchen. There was a window to my left where you could see the back garden.
As I was washing up, out the corner of my eye I saw what looked like a ball of rire coming down from the sky and landing in the garden then all the garden was aflame. It only lasted for a split second as when I looked all was normal.

I almost always forget what I believe my most important questions are when I get there    Drives me crazy.  I can't think of anything, so I ask something dumb...lol
