Title: Antimatter Held in a Stable Condition for Over a Quarter of an Hour!!
Post by: Summerlander on June 06, 2011, 12:56:01
It has been reported by a CERN team in a scientific journal called Nature Physics that antimatter (more precisely antihydrogen atoms), were created and held in stability for nearly 17 minutes - considerably longer than the previous 172 milliseconds! This time extension may allow scientists to gather more information about antimatter's behaviour and the study may even shed some light on the nature of the universe. Questions such as why antimatter is so rare and the fate of post-Big Bang antimatter may soon be answered.
