Title: what is the frequency range that we can detect with sensory equipment?
Post by: tenshi_R on November 06, 2010, 03:04:08
im curious about the complete range of frequencies that we humans can detect with our body senses and using the sensory equipment ( machines, microphones, light sensors etc)

what is the range and what is out of range or type of waves

For humans
The eye can see about from  400 to 790 THz.

The ears can hear from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Machines can detect IR, X-Rays, UV, and I think Gamma Rays. Probably all sounds frequency possible, because all it takes is for something to vibrate and count.
