Hi XenXheng,

We all have that voice, it's just that most people don't listen to it. If you are taking notice of it, that's a wonderful thing!

What you are hearing is you higher self, a.k.a. your soul or your spirit self. This is the pure spirit part of you that exists in the higher realms, and can see what you can't.

You can recognise this voice by the way it guides you. Your higher self will always speak to you out of love, and will always guide you to do what is best for you. You are correct that you will feel right about it, that you will feel comforted by these words and know they are good.

As to how to regain your ability to hear this voice - meditate, regularly. Even if it's only 10 minutes day, sit quietly, relax, and turn your thoughts away from the outside world and all that's happening around you. Turn your thoughts inwards, sit quietly, and just listen. You'll get a lot of your mental chatter at first, but you will soon become practiced in keeping your surface mind quiet and being receptive to your higher self.

The next thing to learn to do, once you have re-established contact with your higher self, and recognise that "peaceful" feeling that comes with it, is to trust in it, and allow it to guide you.

All the best,
James.

Hi James,

Thank you for your quick reply.  I'll quiet the chatter when I can!  I'm also doing this thing called Photoreading, which uses the resources of the higher mind to help digest information.  I hope that when I clear the blockage between me and it, that this technique will get better as well.

Thanks,
Chris

I definitely agree with James S here. We all have the voice only very few of us hear it and even fewer listen to it.

The more awareness you have in each moment the better chance you have of catching the intuition. When you stop consciously interpreting your life and start paying attention to what goes on before you "decide to do" something or another is when you realize how much the intuitive self (ie YOU) has to do with your life.

Intuitition is simply being closely aware of who you are and how you relate to your perceived reality.  Thus: Think less in the active sense, pay attention to your self and assume responsibility of all of your actions.

Hello everyone,

I'm pretty sure my family has "The Voice."  You know, that little voice that tells you what to do or not to do, or what will happen.  I'm also sure everyone has it, but not everybody can recognize or hear it.

I used to have it, too.  But since high school and life troubles rolled around, I have lost the ability to hear that voice that tells me what I should be doing, or what will happen.

Now that I've dealt with the problems, though, I want the voice back, to help me on a path I'm setting myself out on right now.  The voice of God, Heaven, spirits, guide, whoever it was, I want them back!

Nowadays, when I hear a voice telling me it would be a dangerous, or good, thing to do "X," I know I can only trust it when there is a feeling along with the thought.  "Maybe you should eat Mexican tonight" is usually just an internal dialogue, nothing important.  But (true story), driving my motorcycle at 80 mph on to an onramp and hearing a voice scream "SLOW DOWN" with a gut twisty feeling, seconds before I almost wipe out and hit the divider, is the voice I want more contact with.

Other instances of the voice in my youth (all true stories):

- At age 4, while watching my beloved Popeye cartoons, which always, always came in portions of 3 per half hour, a voice told me to enjoy the fourth one that would be coming up.  And lo and behold... there it was!

- A few weeks later, I had a happy feeling that I would be receiving some dinosaur stickers to stick around the house and on my things.  A Highlights for Children magazine showed up soon after... with dinosaur stickers tucked in the back as part of the issue.

- When I was 8 in school, I had a feeling that amounted to basically, "Prepare to laugh when this happens" and the image of a clock clicking its minute hand several times in a row (Kachunk, kachunk, kachunk, about 30 times).  A few days later, in the middle of class, the clocks reset themselves in this exact way and I busted up laughing at the funny sound.

- My brother was in an accident when he didn't listen to the voice telling him to get out of the lane he was in.

- My sister had a tugging feeling on her left arm and felt like something bad had happened to her boyfriend.  She called him to find out he had a near miss with a car on, you guessed it, his left side.

- The same sister drew a very black, dark picture of a crying child in her notebook the very same minute her friend killed himself.

- My aunt listened to her voice and stayed off a particular freeway when it said to, which helped her avoid a pileup she most likely would have been a part of.

- When my mom goes to Vegas, she plays the slot machines that "talk to her," and routinely wins a good couple hundred.

As it stands now, it has been rather quiet.  Any ideas on how I can usher that voice back into my life?
