Hi,

Timeless,

Can you tell me about the amygdala thing? I'm a bit confuse about clicking forward at Neil Slade website. Seems too wonderous to be true.

In fact I have post about that a few days ago. you might like to join there...

Most people don't seem to believe it though.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Silver,

I don't know about meditating but when I'm trying to project sometime
my bodies, limb seems to float and rock back and forth. There is no physical movement. I guess this maybe different than what you have.

Howdy Timeless,[:D]

Actually after I posted this I checked the Astral Consciousness forums and saw your post there. Maybe because  the title is "hey Frank somethinng" (can't remember that thread name, boy am I absent minded)that other people don't check it out?

It's been a long time since my biology left me (or is it the other way around?). I need to find myself some brain picture, with a good crash course.

I think people might dislike discussing biology because then they think people are just saying it is all in your head. To me I think all these exercises people are doing here are helping to build brain pathways and once they have, they are able to acess the spiritual realms and project more easily. Perhaps some are even born with them and therefore are naturals at this stuff. I definitely do not think what is experienced once these pathways are fully developed is just imagination. Rather I think our imagination is then able to give us more accurate representation of what we are experiencing without a bunch of subconscious garbage getting in the way.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Our brain is very adaptive. Our experience and learning help forge neural pathway so that it become easier to do whatever that we do with repetition. Eventhough we're spiritual being, we're also a physical being, at least right now on earth. I think as we practise more AP/meditation/phasing/etc it becomes easier and easier to integrate our learning to the physical. Most people have problem recalling Astral experience but as they repeat the experience, new pathway are forged for better recall. I wonder if those who are into this thing since small have some advantage as their neural connection are made since a young age?

I think Neil Slade's think forward is putting energy into developing the connection between the prefrontal and the Amygdala. It being the prefrontals (especially the left) that give the positive response. Shifting back likely lands you right in the Amygdala that could have all sorts of negative results including dizziness since the Amygdala is so close to our inner ear canal.

So, is it more of activating frontal lobe which is very little used part of the brain and the prefrontal rather than the amygdala itself? Is it like that amygdala is the key to unlock the connection?

You say something about the left and right amygdala and prefrontal. The left give a positive response. What about the right?

My confusion is for all to see...

All in all, I gotta say that I really love my brain.[:)]

Thanks for the link. Whew, quite a bit to read. What I'm more interested is how to directly stimulate part such as the frontal lobe. Eventhough the test are using external electrical stimulation, maybe we can reproduce the effect by using our energy in certain way. Frontal Lobe Supercharge book seems interesting, but is it really necessary? I don't think anyone here have purchase it.

The amygdala stuff seems off topic to me here. The thread is about rocking during meditation. It sounds like this meditation is being done with closed eyes, because with open eyes it would be easy to see if the rocking is actually happening physically. Either it is or it is not. Opening the eyes would immediately make the matter clear. It is also possible that the astral body is moving and not the physical. It will feel physical even when it is not. This is just a guess on my part. It is possible that someone like Frank or Adrian would be able to confirm this and tell you how to get out of body from there.

Hey Silver Slider.

This is something that I've experienced myself, doing my 4-2 meditation: Inhale 4, hold 2, exhale 4, hold 2. It be sitting in a chair. Thanks for sharing. It helps us all to corraborate the things several of us experience.

Grainless

Hello (I'm new btw, so.. glad I made it here, hi all ;) )

I believe the rocking is normal. I experience it all the time when I relax my muscles. I think it's part of the natural relaxation proces. It may get 'worse' when you relax further, heck you might even project. Anyway IMHO :D

ss_majin_gohan

Hey, I dunno about the "full lotus" position or anything like that, all I do is sit in "Indian Style" and clear my mind and I get the rocking feeling too! I agree with Tom because it feels like my spiritual AND my physical body are moving, really weird kinda.......

Links Shadow

The rocking or swaying is a very common occurence. I equate it as your astral body is growing its "sea legs".  I mean your astral body is always there but most people have never consciously used it, and this is one of the first things that I think everyone will feel.

SilverSlider

Because I'm not flexible enough to get into a full lotus position, I usually meditate in a half-lotus, if I'm not in a chair. Whenever I meditate this way after I get into a pretty good trance it feels like my body is rocking back and forth; does anyone else experience this? If so, is it really happening or does it just feel like it is?
