I would like to further my spiritual evolution. I've started meditating again and have read or am reading spiritual books. Does anyone have advice for seeking a spiritual advisor/teacher/guide? How does one pay for something like this? How do you find a good one? Do you have to meet the person face to face or can it be remotely accomplished?

You don't. Please don't pay anybody for that.

Colden

Don't pay. If you are on the right path and you need a teacher one will be provided for you. Just keep your eyes open. Many guides or counselors on the conscious plane will help with what is needed at the time. I met a very knowledgeable person just by reading a book at work. This person helped me progress on my path and was the first person I astral traveled with. After I learned what I needed they were no longer needed but we're still good friends. The universe works in mysterious ways. Once you move over to the astral planes you will also meet guides when needed but they wont be around forever...only for what you need.

The Teacher you seek is the one inside you.

Another human being can point out a way for you to make the inner connection, but they are a teacher.

Never pay a person claiming to be a Teacher, although you might like to give of yourself to a teacher. (Not speaking sexually there either)

You might like to read and experiment with the methods described on my website at simply-spirit. I've taught these methods for over ten years now and they work for the majority of people who A/ Put in the effort every day, and, B/ See the value of your experiences as showing you further directions to investigate.

Everyone has Guides. Most guides are contracted to do certain things with us, and these I call Helpers. Everyone has a Primary or Main Guide, and this is the Higher-Self... the part of your soul's awareness that intercedes between your human awareness and you higher awareness levels.

The Higher-Self is the Teacher within you. Finding how you will make the connection and work with it is the next step in your awakening.

Be well.

I probably wouldn't pay for ongoing tuition but paying for books, courses, workshops etc is fine as far as I'm concerned.  I had no problem paying my Reiki teacher for attunements and workshops either.  What I got out of it was invaluable.

First of all, I would like to apologize for disappearing for many months without visiting the forum.

It can be remotely accomplished and if you want, you can teach yourself with the help and guidance of your Spirit Guides. But i will tell you this upfront from personal experience: Spiritual evolution is no mean feat, especially if you are attempting complete enlightenment and putting a time frame on it makes things more difficult.

If you ask help from your spirit guides, you will find yourself stumbling upon appopriate information for your level of spiritual growth by coincidence.

I would suggest this book:  Autobiography of a yogi - and it is available for free.

Best of luck with your endeavour. :-D

they're rare to come by.  attend spiritual groups and you may run into somebody.

you'll plow through ten bad ones before finding one good one.  just stay with it.

both are possible, but face to face is usually better.

with all of this said, you probably won't find just one guide who fully satisfies you in all areas.  you're probably better off finding ten good guides (while observing a hundred bad ones along the way), each specializing in different areas.  then balance their teachings with each other.
