Does infinity bother you?

Yes, but only in a very limited way. [:D]

Though when I think about living forever theres something in that thought that scares me..

When you're beyond this physical world you won't be worried.

For now, dont't think...just be.

A finite mind has troubles with infinity, but an infinite mind is right at home with it. our higher selves, who we really are beyond the physical, is such an infinite mind.

Infinity doesn't bother me. I think one way God deals with it is to manifest as US, and forget who is and get all creeped out and scared and worried, and then find out what the real deal is, and He says, WHEW! Thank God i'm real! Until he does it again...

The only thing i wonder about is the redundancy of reincarnation and earthly manesfestation, but i'm thinking there's so much i don't know about it would never get boring. I can't stand being bored.
If but we knew the power of our thoughts we would guard them more closely.

BlackTalon

Don't get me wrong it's not really a problem in my life. Just something when I think deeply into I feel disturbed :)..I know once I die things will make sense so i'll have to wait till I go back home I suppose...wherever that may be

Mystic Cloud

It used to trouble me sometime because I'm
also infinitely lazy which is kind of bad combo if you
live for an infinite time since that means infinitely work...

If we compare us to infinitely small,
that will make us infinitely big,
but if we compare
ourselves to infinitely
big, it will make us infinitely small.
What is our size again?

Reality

Yeah you're right, infinity does sound like a loong looong time doesn't it? But that's just an earthy perspective. I mean, imagine if you get into a stage where time doesn't affect you and never get weary, you probably have a totally different look towards eternal existance :)

beavis

Existing forever, if it really is forever (have YOU measured it?), feels similar to how you feel now because if its true you are in part of existing forever. It doesnt scare me. I just hope I dont get stuck in a black hole for a billion years or something like that.

CptPicard

I'll have to agree with beavis on this... What with being a space explorer and all.[:D]
I haven't lost my mind, I've backed it up somewhere...

beavis

More power to the warp engines!! We cant hold it much longer. Damn black hole.

Veccolo

If my freedom of choice and my actual ego (the ME) remain, it doesn't bother me.
I don't do much, and I do it well.

beavis

How do you know "the ME" and your ego remain? what you feel during OBE could be, in part, in your brain unconsciously without you knowing it, even though you feel separate from it, like you do in a dream.

Veccolo

Well I said if the ego remains, I didn't state that it does.

The funny thing is: I believe that OBEs/APs, ego, conscious and so on are brain things [:)].
I don't do much, and I do it well.

jilola

Would "existing forever" also indicate "having existed forever"?

It seems to me infinity, being infinite, doesn't have a beginning as a discrete moment or a location - any point will do.

Puts a new twist to the question "Are you now or have you ever been..."

jilola - great twist.  I love putting things on their heads, to change one's perception.

BlackTalon - you already have lived forever!

Wonderful thread - thoroughly enjoyed reading all your posts.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

BlackTalon

I'm wondering if anyone ever feels this way. It's the thought of being eternal or being aware forever. When I was younger when i'd think about dying and no afterlife or god it was a devestating fear, but now I don't have any worries about dying. Though when I think about living forever theres something in that thought that scares me..almost more than death and no afterlife...kinda weird ya I know.
