Hi everyone!

Do you think that our souls have "genders"? I mean are there men or women souls? Or people just think about themselves as men and women because of our obvious biological differences?

I am not talking about being gay or transgender or whatever. But aren't the notions of men and women just artificial, another tricky illusion of the physical realm? We grow up seeing and hearing about the different roles of men and women, what should and what shouldn't given genders do; that there are girl things and boy things and you should behave this way or that way, and first of all: you should never, ever understand the other gender's way of thinking. So we can complain about it all the time and fill our minds with nonsense views in order to keep it busy. And distracted.

Any thoughts :)?

Gender is how we on the physical plane create.  Gender exists on many levels.   Gender is also related to specific funtions at specific times.  Think about that!!!

perhaps our souls are both. half masculine and half feminine. yin and yang.

Souls are genderless.(perhaps even both or more) Our Spirit is the essence of what we were when alive, and will remain male or female.
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice. ~Joseph Dunninger

I think gender is only physical, people can choose to identify with it, or the opposite...or neither.  For being a tiny, delicate woman, I am slightly more masculine than 99% of the males I run into.  It's hard to say if it's because I have an older brother who shaped my brain, or if I've been predominantly male throughout my past incarnations.  It feels like the latter. This is likely my first run as a woman based on my inability to handle "feminine stuff", like menstruating (you may laugh).  I have never fainted...but that occurrence -- on a regular basis -- has driven me closer to blacking out than anything else ever has.  I've been doing this for 16 years!  I'll bet I won't get used to it before I'm menopausal.

Interesting topic!

I would have no clue on this one... Maybe we are both? I know it's possible for entities (Or heard it's possible) to take shape of anything they want to be. I know that's manifesting but...

Yeah, that one put a smile on my face  :-)...

According to Jung our behaviour express (most of the time) the gender of our bodies, but since our souls are genderless (or rather, both-gendered) we suppress the opposite gender of our bodies and it manifests unconsciously, being what we call the animus/anima.
If you're a man your subconscious tends to manifest as feminine (anima)
And if you're a woman your subbie tends to manifest as masculine (animus).
This manifestation takes place in dreams- your animus or anima will present itself to you in dreams.

Of course, this all can be interpreted.

Interesting perspective. I'm physically female, but many subtleties of my personality and ways of seeing things are more masculin. I have no brothers though, so that can't be anything to do with it in my case. So perhaps this explains it - I'm just not used to being female. :-D

And to answer the original question, I don't think souls have genders. It just wouldn't make sense to me.

Does reincarnating more often as a male/female cause any imbalance between the two genders :)?

Chaos Mage

I've read that we have to balance our male/female aspects to fully evolve as a spiritual being.
If we are too much male, even other males will be afraid of us, and society will take measures to keep us in check.  Too much female, and you go the other way, but same thing.
If a male is working with his body, then you can notice after a year of solid body building what exactly type of creature this is.  Males that grow large chest muscles almost appear to have breasts, and I've heard that males who work out intensively can sometimes lose their ability to reproduce.  I don't know if that's from steriods or if it's a biological fact, and I don't check these things cuz I'm just trying to stay in a place where I can walk if I have the motivation.

When you look at an infant, then it throws a whole new idea into it.
That we condition OURSELVES to behave in a certain way, based on the feelings that we have and our thoughts about reality.  Little babies decide if they are going to be male as they are growing, I'm almost sure of it.  I think it has something involving the center of energy and where the fetus directs it's energy.

As for people who are hideously deformed and such, that is a very sad occurence and I don't think that they especially worry about these sorts of things.  There are even shemales that have all sexual organs.  Imagine that, being one of those, and thin!  ahh!

So again, you have to balance your male and female qualities.  A male who has a feminine sexual side may in fact reproduce with a female child, by that I mean, his daughter would be a girl.  A man who has a masculine mentality would likely throw male children.  On that matter, the conception of the child is as important as every other day of it's life.

Really, I think that we have male/female forms because of the spirits which are male and female and have composed the majority of our mentality up to this point.  The spirits themselves are male or female, and if anyone cares to notice, males and females have their own specific emotions.
Strength. Endurance. Speed. Resistance. Stamina. -these are dimensional, at density and frequency.
Will. Courage. Faith. Love. - these are spiritual, the power to effect Life Force.
Balance. Peace. Focus. Charge. Awareness. -mentally active self control

First, semantics with the word soul.

For this purpose, I will describe soul as the physical counterpart to whatever you want to call the "spirit"

In this case, I find the answer to be obvious. Yes.

Your specific gender body juggles different types of systematic cycles.

I agree and want to add my own two cents- souls are genderless, but the issue isn't really gender- it's the attributes that we assign gender to; in western (and eastern) society we do, every day.  Such as:
male- linear, 'rational', fire (sun) and dominance, and
female- nonlinear, emotional, flowing, (moon) and passive.

This does not mean men and women are all like this, it means the collective identifies these characteristics with each gender, polarizing them.
So it can be said that souls do have 'gender', or a propensity towards certain characteristics, and this is why some see it as gendered.
Now, by soul I don't mean the precursor to body (I call that spirit) but the whole psyche, as in the nonphysical counterpart to the physical person.

Cheers,
CF.

No idea- some authors say some souls have preferences.  All I can say is I knew I was female before I knew what female was.   But it could be instinctual.
