"Golden Light Meditation" vs N.E.W. ???

It started with "close your eyes" and I missed the rest.

I'm joking.

Perhaps a real response might be good.

http://www.kundalini-reiki.net/

This web site teaches a variation on reiki called, of course, kundalini reiki. It has the first three levels as a prerequisite for everything else. It has a gold reiki as well as the kundalini reiki and it says that the gold light is the most powerfully transformative light in physical existence. This is not really something which makes sense to me, but it is true that many holy people are depicted as having bright gold auras. I intend to try it for myself soon.

i do not know if it is better, i have not viewed this subject as competitive sport before, but as that different techniques may work better at  different stages of your development. i like the NEW stuff because i have always been partial to to methods which use the feelings of the body and the visual process rather than the mental spaceouts of mantras.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Speculation:

The above technique is all visualization, but NEW could be used to enhance it. NEW teaches you a targetting system and gets you working with the energy directly. Visualization is a much slower road to working with energy directly because you're moving energy indirectly, sort of by association.

With NEW, one could directly flow energy in through the top of the head, instead of just "visualizing" that it's happening. (Visualization will probably eventually give you the same effect, but it'll take ages to achieve the same level of "pull." (Once again, because you're pulling by association, not pulling directly.)

The only problem I see with this, is that Robert Bruce doesn't talk about it. What I mean, is that it might be dangerous. Visualization takes so long to work, that you're ready for the energy by the time you start pulling in great amounts. With NEW, you might start flowing more energy through your crown chakra than you're ready for. The top of the head is probably some sort of exchange center, like the hands, feet, lungs, etc, but maybe it works a bit differently.  It's a primary energy center, unlike the hands and feet. Probably wouldn't hurt to gently experiment and not force anything.

(But once again --> speculation. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> )

Thanks for the replies.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Tom - that's a pretty amazing web site!  I was stunned to see that they offer remote kundalini awakening.  Have you done this at all or did you just surf by the page?  Yes, I've read that about the golden auras before.  Very interesting!

Ralph - it's not about competition, I'm simply asking.  You seem to have missed what I said above, as Golden Light meditation is exactly what you described - all you do is visualisation and you can feel the results in the body.  There's no mantras etc.

Mark - I don't think it's dangerous because it encourages you to move the energy down, and yet the higher centres are still stimulated because the energy moves down through them (I can feel it in my 3rd eye for instance).  Note that NEW works by visualisation too, so they're pretty much the same from that viewpoint.

Out of interest - this is what Barbara Anne Brennan ("Hands of Light") recommends in her books.

Also some friends I was talking to seemed to think that this golden energy entering through the head was different from energy drawn through the hands and feet.  I found that very hard to believe but does anyone actually know?

Cheers,

Edguidry told me about the web site. They say they awaken kundalini for people at a distance. Their prices are about on the low side of everything out there. They offer a couple of their products free as introductions to what they can do. I'm thinking of contacting them for a free sample.

Hello -

This ritual group I've just joined recommend that I do a Golden Light meditation which you can see at this link and does seem pretty cool indeed.

Actually now I think about it it's more of a visualisation than a meditation.  Anyhow - this seems to be an energy-drawing exercise and I was wondering whether it's an alternative to NEW or what the difference might be.  Especially as these guys say it's pretty much all you need.  Though I can imagine some energy bouncing etc fitting into it and chakra stimulation beforehand helping.

Also this visualisation seems to really help with minor headaches!

Any thoughts?  Anyone done this a lot?
