Is it really karma, and can we over-step it?

The following is my opinion...........

It seems important to mention that the word "Karma" is used differently in different believe-systems. For example the Theosophy's define Karma very differently compared to the Buddhists.

I'll try to explain my viewpoint which is close to the Buddhist view.
First Karma means that mental actions have a consequence. we all know that physical actions have a consequence, so it is not that hard for me to assume, that mental actions do the same. Karma is not about good and bad in a absolute sense. it is not about moral, it is more like a physical law, that must be applied to mental actions.
It basically means when you do something with the intention to harm somebody then this will cause harm for you in the future. If you do something with the intention to cause happiness then this will bring you happiness. Intention is what counts.
It is very simple. For example:if you get angry when somebody takes your parking place, then this anger will have a negative effect on you in the future, for example you start to fight with your girlfriend cause you are still angry about the parking spot..............

AND not all harmful things that happen are causes by Karma! There are other forces at work. If somebody is born blind that does not mean he did bad in the last life and now he got punished for that! This would be a fatal misinterpretation of Karma!

Karma can be stopped if we life mindful.
