Hi there nrishiraj !

It was a combination of your meditation, and your falling asleep. Sounds like a cop out answer, eh ?!

Whilst your body became tired, your mind remained awake, & began to drift away from the physical. This is part of the state known as "mind awake / body asleep". Look in the astral conciousness forum for more info. Search on "focus levels" too.

You were actually quite close to astral projection. Did you notice anything odd about the blackness behind your eyelids ? Or your perception of space around you ? If the answer is no, then the next time you experience those sensations, just let things unfold naturally & do not think about it...see what happens.

If the answer was "yes", you may have noticed that the blackness that you normally perceive behind your eyelids had a certain texture. You may have also had a 3-D feeling that you were within a "space" or "room", and not lying on your bed. This state is focus 12, according to Monroe.

Sorry, I feel like I'm putting words into your mouth now  ! I'll stop.

Anyway, if you did perceive a texture to the blackness, the next step is to passively focus your mind on a speck / dot / pattern. With any luck, this will expand into a screen or window, which you can step through. Be aware though, that you can't just focus on a spot whenever you close your eyes - you have to be at that particualr level of conciousness that you may (or may not!) have reached.

Hope that wasn't too confusing !!!

Yes I did see some sort of patterns or texture, can't really describe exactly what it was. Since it was my fist time, I'll have another go and keep practising. This is exciting.

Thanks

excellent ! Remember that sensation of tiredness that you had though, when you started the meditation.... IMO, that's what your need when you practise.

Check out Frank's old posts on astral phasing, which go into a lot more detail on this particular method. Whilst I managed to conciously project only a couple of times over 8 or 9 months using this method, he had practised to such an extent that he could do it most mornings !

Anyway, have a good evening.

I forgot to mention that I saw a swirl of white colours behing my eyelids too. :)

Definately sounds like your heading in the right direction.  I have had good luck by actually opening my physical eyes, then closing them down to a slit I can't really see through.  I aliken it to using starting fluid on a charcole grill, a way to jumpstart Astral sight.  You don't see Astrally with your physical eyes,  but you use the visual part of your brain to interprete.
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

I just came on here to ask about a weird thing in my meditation sounded kinda similar as I was only doing it about 15 mins, I was not really even thinking about astral travel just trying to regain some energy before work as i'm pretty burned out. I was trying to visualize energies to revitilize me. A strange thing happend as I noticed like a sheet in front of me white with black blobs like pattern, the more I concentrated on this I almost felt the same thing described above like like swinging around, but different than the usual. The pattern was almost like you'd see in a space movie where they move really fast through space...well it gave me the impression at least of moving, I tried to just relax and let it flow but maybe i was trying to hard. I also felt/seen a sensation of light coming in from my right side my heart rate also went up but..unfortunetly it went away. I tried to visualize that pattern again but it doesnt seem to work like it did before lol. I do however feel someone more energetic but I don't know for sure :)

I just meditated for about 15 mins, within 10 mins I felt my head getting a little lighter and I couldn't help my head rotating, like going in circle, round and round (also felt as if my head was sinking back). The thing is I did feel sleepy before I started the meditation.

I'm not sure if it was the sleep feeling that caused it or was is the meditation? I also noticed that for a quick second I felt like my head just was gonna fall to my left side.

I did feel calm after :)

Any thoughts?
