Are you implying that you know the meaning of life?
You have to figure it out for yourself. That is the whole point. Don't let anyone give you your opinion. If somebody claims to know it, watch your wallet cause they are trying to sell you something. The search is the important part.
I could tell you the meaning of life, but you would tell me to shut up and put my dictionary down.
read my signature. [:D]
How can you own a truth? If its true for you, it should be true when somebody else sees it too.
The meaning of life is simply to eat pie. once you eat enough pie you die.
My belief regarding the concept of "the meaning of life" is dualistic: I know the objective, universal meaning of life. At the same time, however, I believe firmly the meaning of life is different for everyone.
I believe the logician would shoot me for the above statement. Oh well, he doesn't know the meaning of life then![;)]
meaning of life is 42
Hi All.
I know what it's not!!! [:)]
It's not being born and going to school so you can grow up to be an adult who gets married, has the average 2.5 children, works 5 or 6 day weeks for little reward in order to pay of an over-priced house for that family and eventually retire at an age where you can not do the things you dreamed of at 30 or 40 years of age, then just die after around five years of retirement !!!!!!
By the way, this was pretty much the answer I got at 17 when I asked people. I hope it is 42 coz that means I am right about everything actually being a lot more simple than we make it. LOL [:P]
Love always.
It is not the answer that is important it is the journey to find it. I mean think about people know a lot, but what we understand is miniscule in comparison. The journey helps us understand the final answer whatever it may be, and without the experiences of the journey the answer will hold no meaning. For example, I could say the word "tokamak" to all of you, and even if you know what it is like me odds are you don't understand the concepts involved, I know that I don't. So what good is knowing the name? I leave you to answer that question.
Respectfully,

You all need to stop over-complicating things and go eat your pie...
Seriously though,

Meaning of life is...
for ME is to bridge my dimensions.
I need/want to learn OBE to connect myself with this physical dimension.
I need/want the experience/knowledge.
This is what i know now, i will understand more when i got to that point.
Its a movie.
every lifetime has a meaning and every human has had many lifettimes. these lives were dedicated to learn and perfect your whole self. this life that you lead right now is a lesson for the future. you wont know what you are to learn, but when you die and im sure you will figure that out :). The meaning of your whole self is to become perfect. To become perfect one must learn everything. And one way of learning is to reincarnate on earth, which is a shortcut. Each time you reincarnate (if you wish to) you get closer or farther away from god. And that is the purpose of our wholeselves: to become one with God, to be infinite. You can think of your life as just a mere lesson in perfecting and learning about your true self and your flaws.

Creation is our meaning, our purpose.
Purpose is the meaning of life.
Perfection defines our purpose.
Creation is the quintessential element behind perfecting, for perfection is an act of creating.
What existence do we serve if there is no element of creation involved? Imperfections allow us to create, indirectly and directly, to ourselves, to others, and to the environment. Destruction is even an element of creation, though creation itself is not an act of destroying (i.e. a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square).
To put it into a more practical (though generic) perspective, consider this. The meaning of our lives may be an act of discovery, but it is discovery that allows us to progress ourselves, to create our own realities, or to impress our realities upon others.
Progress and achievement in all aspects of our lives (creating. perfecting).
As long as there is room for progress or advancement, there is purpose.
Perhaps the question should be rephrased to: what is the -purpose- of life? Nearly the same, but not.
The meaning of life is found within it's purpose, and that is to grow, learn, progress. Take the lesson from a catapillar and apply it to your spiritual path.
Your path does not stop at your death, only your body stops.
That figures .... after years of pondering on the meaning of life.
We got to be heading some where while on this earth. Learning helps us to get somewhere.
I had like to think that we can have paradise at the end of our stay here. After all our troubling days are over and the new earth is here.
Hope u get the picture.
Nothing bad intended here. Always wanted some peace and quiet.[:I]
Couldn't have said it better. I would like to add that the meaning is also to experience the world, because without life, the world could not be experienced.
Anyway, these things can not be understood by just reading about it. They must be directly experienced.

Agreement is in order! Just joking. I do agree with you. Life and experiences go hand in hand. Unless we do not need to do anything physical with our boby. We can then manifest everthing just by thoughts and projections. We would not need food, roads, and maybe even air, as we have not lungs to be filled with air. We would probably be just floating around like ghosts.
Just the thoughts....

This theory would assume that there is no spiritual world, which is materialistic and not logical. [xx(]

It appears as though you want to exchange sentiments for opinions. Would you trade $100 bills for wooden nickels? [:I]
It is encouraged that one ask questions, but one must ask the right questions to get the right answers. [;)]
The life between birth and death is an EXTENSION of our life between death and rebirth. [^]
I read somewhere that life has absolutley NO purpose OR meaning other than the purpose and meaning WE decide to give it. WE decide what or how we wish to BE and then make the statement to the Universe that THIS decision is OUR meaning and purpose to our life. I like that theory. It's all about creation....So What do you WANT the meaning of your life to be??
I don't have a real answer for the question, but I have a quote...
"The answer to life is not one question to be answered, but all of them."
Hmmm im not about to complicate things like for example... "1+1= a complex sum of two numbers to give relevance to the body of 2 individual items as a group" when the answer is as simple as "2"
so in saying that... i thought the meaning of life was to "live" just as the meaning of death is to "die" lol.
