So I have always wondered if our 'souls/spirits' will always meet up with each other in each and every existence. Are we always drawn to certain people no matter how long it takes, do we always 'find' each other? Do you ever get that feeling that you have met somebody before. And do you wonder why sometimes when you meet someone for the first time you immediately 'click' with them like you have always known them?

Just some of my thoughts coz I believe this to be true

I don't often feel like I've met people before, but I can spot "someone like me" a mile away.  There is definitely some kind of subtle/psychic connection or 'red flag' that we pick up on in eachother when we are open to accept it.  Though I do believe that we meet the people that we meet for a reason.  I don't think that any significant person in my life was an accidental encounter, there always seems to be a reason, though usually in hindsight.

Personalreality - yeah I know exactly what you mean about people coming into your life for a reason. There are two people in particular who are in my life right now and only have been for the last 5 years and they are helping me to be a better person. They are both a good influence in my life, giving me the confidence I had lost after suffering with depression. So yeah I guess that they came to me or we found each other for a reason.

As for spotting 'someone like me' I also always know who isnt like me and I do tend to avoid these people its as if I know that they will not be good for me. I spose we always tend to gravitate to those people who are like us.

Thanks for the response

I think it's kind of idealistic, but it's more than just knowing when people are sympathetic to "the cause".  it's almost like we're spiritual warriors in deep cover and we have a secret nonphysical signal that lets us know how many of us are there.  like i said, a bit new agey and idealistic, but I can't argue with how I feel.  i just wrote a long post about emotional experience (which I believe to be the source of 'intuition') and i feel like there is this archetypal emotional memory that all people "like us" have buried deep inside.  we may not know what it is or where it came from, but it alerts us to matters of the soul and it always sings when i meet a person that "really gets the big picture" (whatever that means).
be awesome.

Hi Ange,

In my personal beliefs we do tend to have 'soul family' which are people we will be more likely to see in this lifetime at some point or another. This can either be soul family that we've had through the ages and through many existences, or we could be developing new soul family. The specifics? I don't think it truly matters and we can only create ideas of how the universe works based on our own experiences ... but even our own experiences, perceptions, and beliefs are by definition, faulty based on how the mind perceives information and concludes itself. Granted, that doesn't mean we can't have fun coming up with our own theories right? :-)

Personally, I have a LOT of people in my life I consider soul family ... and people I know in my heart I have traveled with somehow in circles throughout the ages. There are many people I feel are 'soul mates' that I am very close to (and soul mates in this context is from the assumption that 'soul mate' is not a term defined only for an interpersonal relationship and only one person ... but that we have many 'soul mates' or 'soul family.')
