I was waiting for my girlfriend to come pick me up after work last night... and I was watching the people drive by me and I got to thinking about the "Human Experience".
I was thinking about how humans are right now in relation to money and how we live, and I can't help but feel that we're just doing something wrong.
I mean, if we're all here to learn and experience, why are we all fighting each other?
Money is one of the general reasons behind why Humans fight... if we removed money from the Human Experience and we all *TRULY* did care for one another and helped each other in our learning experience, how much better a world would this be in relation to actually getting our spiritual work done?
I can't help but thinking that we're just going about this entire "living" thing wrong.
We're not supposed to have "currency"... we're just supposed to "help" others *AND* ourselves. Not just ourselves.
/end ramble. :)
To quote the great Robert Monroe from Ultimate Journey, page 90
"Enjoy your life in the [Earth-Life] System, maximize your highs and lows-but don't become addicted. Get through being angry at how the system works, the seeming inequities, the unfair advantages, the brutalities, the callousness, the deceit. It's a predator world by deisgn-and it's a superb teaching machine...Your Human Mind has a natural and normal proclivity to try to make things in the Earth Life System much the way it is accustomed to in the There. History is full of such attempts, but in the end the system always wins. Any edge may have been frayed, but the predator animalism simply comes back, sometimes a bit smarter than before, and takes over. That does not mean you don't try in your Human Mind expression, and it is possible that you might change a part of it, but you will never change it all. If you did manage a complete overhaul, the system wouldn't and couldn't exist."
A great book by the way that changed my life. I'm not saying "give up that's the way it is" but with understanding comes growth. Basically the greatest potential for growth is through struggle. Struggle with materialism, struggle with values, struggle with anything really. However you cannot change the 'reality'. You can only do your best to reach your personal potential and hopefully help a few others along the way.
IMO, money is just a symbol. What we do with this symbol, is the thing.
Yeah, it's not money itself, but our concepts of money. Many view money as an asset, but it's mostly just a tool to gain assets. A large society wouldn't be able to develop in any kind of modern way without it, and with that many people, you're bound to have inconsistencies on how money is viewed an used and distributed.
Obviously, you can't change how everyone views money, so IMO all you can really do is set an example and live the way you think is right. And if you can't make the sacrifices needed to do that (certain aspects can be tough in today's society), your living just like everyone else.
The worth of your life is not in how much you have, but how you choose to to live.
