Why these lessons?

Lately I have noticed that sometimes, (like this morning) when I am waking up, someone is teaching me lessons. I am aware that a complete story is told to me and while I'm on the threshold between sleeping and waking up I try very hard to remember these sentences by repeating them to myself. But at the moment that I am completely awake, everything is gone. Or sometimes I remember one or two last sentences. So my questions are:

Why am I given these lessons, when I forget everything when I wake up?
Are any of you experiencing these lessons?
Who could possibly be the teacher?

Thanks for reading and responding.  :-)

There are lots of theories, but I think we all get them, and we start to become aware of them as we start cultivating lucidity.  Many OBErs (Monroe comes to mind, but many others describe it, and I have and continue to experience this) get to a point when they become lucid in the lesson and then their 'instructor' lets them know that the lesson has ended and they're moving to another type of lesson.  Then you begin to have conscious projections to school settings  (or lucid dreamstate lessons) and remember some of them.
There are some theories that tell you that your Higher Self aspects are giving you the lessons, and this makes sense to me.  I have noticed that the lessons I remember have something to do with my daily life, albeit symbolically understandable, and other times the lessons become very esoteric and related to consciousness itself.
I think the dreamstate lessons are how your subconscious learns, and the school setting is how you perceive the astral environment in which this is taking place.  At least ATM it's what makes sense to me.

Your subconscious, your higher-self,  God,  you might as well call it what you like because you don't understand the mechanics of it anyway.

I've came out of dreams feeling as though I was just in some kind of psychedelic hallucination,  that my curled-up asleep body was just a highway linking organic, intelligent cities that were in communication and exchange with each other.  And that their collective community was disrupted when "I" awakened and decided that "my body" is just "my body" rather than this incredibly complex biological system.  Coincidentally I was sick this same night when I went to bed,  and woke up very refreshed and feeling as though my body had really done a lot of house-cleaning.

I have a lot of faith in my body.  I trust it to do it's own thing,  I just try to realize how I can help it out and stick with that..

Thank you CFTraveler for your answer. I can't wait (but I will have to) until I get these lessons and can remember them. As a matter of fact, this night I had a phasing-screen of a large classroom! But it had warm colors and tapestries on the walls. Not at all like the white and bare classrooms I know from my past. The atmosphere of this one felt very pleasant and inviting. Perhaps my future classroom.....  :-)

Thank you also no_leaf_clover. I think a lot more people have these experiences, but they don't seem to talk about it. So thanks for sharing yours.  :-)

No problem, and I hope I didn't come off sounding arrogant when I said you don't understand the mechanics of God, that you might as well call it whatever,  because that applies equally to us all.  So that's just what I always say: "whatever it is, because I don't understand it."  But I know we are all intuitively seeking the same thing, which is what's so beautiful about the process. :)
