Hello,

I am on a journey of self discovery, one to find that immaterial part of me that is within myself. One question though, this is something I have always wondered. Are all spiritual experiences really genuine, or, could they be mistaken for hallucinations of the mind? How do you tell the difference? Please inform me, I have thought about this a lot lately.

Well from my limited but REAL experiences I can tell the difference from a hallucination and a OBE.
Even from my days way, way back when I tried some LSD I could tell.  I was 17 or 18 at the time.
I remember listening to Jimi Hendrix at a party and it SLOWED down....I looked at the record player and it was playing normally.
(That should 'date me'.  Listening to a Record Player...haha)
It sounded as if someone had their thumb dragging on the record while it played.
Now was that an hallucination? Some would say it was.  I do not agree. It was distorted.  That I will agree but, it was REAL.
I knew nothing of anything like an OBE back then.  Still, I believe that was a form of it.  Or at least my 'soul' was very active at that time and trying to get out.
Due to the drug of course. I figure now it was my pineal gland was fired up and ready to GO! :)

It would be my fair guess that you will know if something is 'Real' or not to YOU!
My advice is to try to remember to look at your hands while you have any out of body experiences.
Or even IF you 'think' you are having one.

What's genuine is what you benefit from. My spiritual experiences relate to me personally and I can gain understanding from them.

If you benefit from a hallucination, maybe you experienced it for a reason. If it plagues your life, I would go another route. Everyone has that inner voice that will guide you to the correct path. You just have to be sure to listen to it.
