This is from Lightworker.com, and doesn't quote the channel.  It feels like a Guide responce to me.  I was waiting for someone to notice the 'coincidence' to the Iraq earthquake?  Pay particular attention to the parts about Lightworker Energy work.

" . . . Now, we know we told you you could ask questions and you can. We will answer all of them. But we want to give you a narrative right now. So if you will indulge us, please let us speak at length and then you can follow up with any questions you may still have.

This is going to seem quite counterintuitive to you. This event happened (the earthquake/tsunami) because the Earth is very simply "blowing off steam." Just as you have had ascension symptoms, so does the Earth. The Earth must release old energy stored deep within in order for it to lighten to the extent needed to follow you in your ascension. By "you," we mean in the last sentence collective humanity. As you know some of you have ascended more quickly than others. You are vibrating at a dimensional level more quickly than the earth and the consciousness of collective humanity. Your experience seems a bit schizophrenic as you are straddling two different cosmic worlds. The world to which you have ascended is still in the process of its own creation experience. However, you remain with your beloved Earth Mother during the process of evolution of collective humanity out of 3d existence. It is confusing for you and it is a situation that is unprecedented from the historical standpoint of soul evolution so it is new to us as well. This goes back to the fact that, as you know, the Armegeddon of the prophesies did not take place due to the collective intention of your Earth Mother and your brothers and sisters in 3d (Note--this channel refers to old human consciousness as "3d."). The Armegeddon would have been the natural culmination of centuries and millennia of material consciousness, rife with war, disease, pollution, etc. Earth Mother would have expelled this low density energy of the ages in one big blow so to speak. Once expelled, the Earth Mother could have started the process of regeneration and healing of herself such that she could sustain human life once again, Now, just because the Armegeddon is not going to take place does not mean that Earth Mother will not expel the bottled up low density energy. She has to. She cannot sustain it, and humanity cannot sustain it in humanity's collective ascension. To the extent humanity ascends, Earth Mother must blow off steam. It is a direct correlation. Do you wonder why there were two megaquakes exactly one year apart—Iran quake on Dec, 26th 2003 and Sumatra quake on Dec. 26, 2004? It is no coincidence. Why, you ask, at the most beautiful time of year when Christians of the world reflect on the birth of the beloved Christ child, when generosity and selfless giving is at its highest and when we begin to hope for the betterment of our world and our individual selves in the coming new year do we have these devastating quakes with much loss of life? It is simple. As collective humanity lightens its vibration, as collective humanity begins vibrating at a finer density, so must our dear Earth Mother. In order for her to do that, she must blow off some steam of lower density energy she has collected under her shell over the ages. You know of the principle that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This is a similar principle. We must say that there is much steam for Earth Mother to blow off. Enough steam such that if it were all let out at once it would destroy all of humanity. It won't be let out at once, however. This is not going to be a pretty process for those of you who think as 3d beings think. When you think of it from the standpoint of the lighter dimensions it is a very beautiful process, however.

Lightworkers, you have personally, as individuals, been going through ascension symptoms. You are disoriented at times. Lackadaisical. Tired. Bloated. Disoriented. You are blowing off your individual steam. As you rise in vibration, you expel lower density energies that you have been collecting over the years. The expulsion process is unpleasant from a 3d perspective. Earth Mother is going through exactly the same process--the effects of which are shifts in the earth's crust and weather pattern changes, among others. Basically, what it boils down to is the physical 3d effects of expulsion of large amounts of dense energy. These expulsions will necessarily continue to happen. As you see these dramatic phenomena, however, know that collective humanity is firmly on its path to raising its vibrational state. Other channels are correct in instructing you to direct the seemingly destructive energy to unpopulated places. This is a fine thing to do. Do not try to interfere, however, with the release of the energy. It needs to be released.

Q: Why, then, did there have to be so much loss of life involved with the Sumatra quake? It seems diabolical. How could we possibly rejoice at such a horrible tragedy, even if it means that the earth is becoming more healthy as a result?

This may not be what you want to hear. However, let us tell you that there is not a single soul who passed away from this tragedy that regrets that they passed away. This is not a tragedy for them. Human death is not a tragedy to those who have crossed over. We know this is making you very uncomfortable. We understand how uncomfortable it must be when you necessarily cannot understand the full scope and significance of existence because you are looking through the lenses of 3d reality. As humans, you think linearly. You think in terms of birth as beginning and death as ending of life. You see only one reality instead of parallel realities. You have faith that life is infinite, yet you still believe that the type and quality of life changes at the time of human death. We don't criticize you at all for these beliefs because that is exactly what you are supposed to believe in 3d. Those are the rules of that game. As such, a 3d human experiences much groaning and gnashing of teeth when 100,000 "lives are lost." It is a profound tragedy from a 3d perspective. We are here to tell you that you do not have to feel compelled to mourn. You don't have to feel guilty if you are instead grateful to God for this experience. We know you are conflicted in that you don't want to dishonor or disrespect the sacrifice of so many beautiful souls by rejoicing in humanity's cleansing in what you are concerned is a "Pollyanna like" way. We will tell you this much. There is great rejoicing in heaven at this time.

It is important not to fear. We know that our words may invoke fear to those who continue to dwell in 3d consciousness. We don't talk this frankly often because creation of fear is just the opposite that we hope to achieve. Many humans may be thinking: If Earth Mother has much steam to blow off, I or my loved ones might get caught in the crossfire just like those victims in Asia. If humans are fearful, they continue to contribute to the collection of low density energies within themselves and the earth. These low density energies will seek release, and the process of energy release and its consequences go on and on. Humanity is reaching a point where there will be no further need for energy release once the lower level energies are gone. It is so important, then, not to allow fear into your consciousness. For this, we ask that you have faith that fear is not necessary—that there is absolutely nothing to fear in spite of what appears to you to be an ugly picture. Please have faith and trust in this truth—that you are loved and cared for and are always exactly where you need to be. Know that you will never be harmed and can never be harmed. You are the dearest, most beloved creations of your Father Mother God and are cared for beyond measure. You have heard it so many times but please have faith and believe that your 3d experience is an illusion, or a hologram if you will. Your 3d experience does not constitute your beingness or your life. There is so much more to you and to your existence that you will know soon. Brace yourselves. Armor yourselves with unwavering conviction that you are the eternal, immortal, beloved creation of Father Mother God and that no harm can ever befall you or your dear loved ones.

Through the aftermath of the earthquake/tsunami, humanity will display, in beautiful ways, its essence as a Christed people. Outpouring of generosity will be profound. Formerly impoverished countries will be given a fresh new start with modern infrastructure and clean attractive towns and cities. Global community will be cemented as we become directly involved in helping our brothers and sisters in affected areas.

Q: Why did the disaster occur in that particular part of the world?

There was a lot of bottled up energy around the equator. The low density energy tends to gravitate there with the result that equatorial areas have lower density energies in greater concentrations. This phenomena is especially difficult for the people of this region because it seems regardless of how hard they try, they just can't move forward. Tribal disputes of a prolonged nature have compounded this. In Aceh, there has been a long standing civil war. You are also very well aware of the common practice of "dark magic" in this area as you have seen it first hand. This is a contributor to what had become a chronic build up of low density energy in that area. The Sri Lankans have similarly had a long standing conflict within their country as well. You know, also, that integrity in business relations is an issue in this region. This, too, led to the low density energy concentration underneath the region. What we are saying, however, is that for the whole of that region to be able to ascend as it desires, it must release that low density energy that underlies it. We can assure you that this energy has been released in spades. You can see now why there is much rejoicing in heaven.

Q: I am surprised that something of this magnitude didn't happen in the Middle East first. Talk about long-standing tribal conflict. What can you say about this?

There is cleansing going on right now in the Middle East. Things are not as they appear to be on the surface. As far as why the Middle East didn't get a 9.2 earthquake at this time, we will say that there are open vortices in that region which help to temper the build up of lower density energy. There is plenty still to release, mind you, but the transformation of the Middle East will come in a different, less dramatic form. We will tell you that the earthquake experience in Asia will have far reaching consequences in terms of lightening humanity's vibration and compelling a concomitant purging of lower density energies. There will be a domino-effect of sorts. Please do not fear as fear is not warranted. There will be a brilliant, beautiful New Jerusalem.

Dear ones, we ask that you continue with your energy transformation work. This is a special skill that you possess. It is something that, as a lightworker, you are uniquely capable of doing (along with your fellow lightworkers). We want to tell you something about energy transformation work. This is a 5d concept and 5d skill. It is quite applicable and effective on the present earth plane, however, and we encourage your continued practice and development of this skill. With this type of work, release of pent up energy does not have to be dramatic at all. You work within the lower level energy to raise its vibration and transmute it to higher vibrating energy. It's quite simple, but you must not think like a human and be susceptible to human dramas. This is why it can only be done by those who have ascended to 5d. As we said before, many of you have ascended already while collective humanity is still undergoing the process of ascension. The reason you are called Lightworkers is because you have this ability to use your lighter energy density to transmute and thereby raise the lower densities of the collective humanity. You shine your "light," your inherent higher vibrational energy, and your "light" speeds up that with which it comes in contact, enlightening everything around you. It's quite wonderful, actually. It is the Lightworkers who facilitated the prevention of the Armegeddon. It is the Lightworkers that will minimize the drama potential of the earth's energy releases. Shining the light, and raising the vibration of everything you come in contact with, is a natural and very simple consequence of your being on earth at this time. The difficulty Lightworkers have is in honoring themselves and validating their own work. Living in a society in which value is ascribed to labor and hard toil, Lightworkers often think of themselves as underachievers. This is not at all true. Honor yourselves. Understand your crucial role and proudly take up the mantle of your station. You are truly valuable and honored beyond measure. There is so much you are capable of doing. Trust your instincts and act on them. You are healers and your healing work is here before you. This is your destiny."

Thank you very much for posting that excerpt Rastus.

It really does shed a lot of light on the situation. I could not help but feel at the time that our Mother Earth had an important bit of "housekeeping" that she needed to do, and I don't doubt that the very slight shift in her axis is also part of this.

She never does anything without good reason.
