I decided to go for a state of relaxation without any special techniques... breathing, visualization, body awareness... nothing....
whatever happened... I just let it be and feel natural.  In fact... that was the furthest I have been to the obe/lucid dream state in a long time... all by throwing away the form of how to do it and just willing myself to relax as far as possible.  Have Fun.

Arie....

You're onto something here.  This is something I have been telling others for years.  Our bodies know how to naturally relax and disassociate with our waking reality.  After all, how many of you actually have to "will yourself to sleep" when you lay down at night?  Not too many.  We naturally do this.

The problem is that too many people TRY too hard to relax and achieve this state of MIND, and unfortunately, all they end up doing is fighting the natural stages of relaxation that your body and mind are capable of.

Keep practicing what you're doing, by just letting yourself naturally relax and be a passive observer of the process.  Let it happen, and mentally take notes.  If you catch yourself TRYING to do ANYTHING, discard it and continue with the natural flow of things.  You will be amazed at your progress!
Keep smiling,

yea, "why?" should we stay 'in mind' when we are not around people?  Buddhist know:2types of mind: mental mind and the PURE MIND=consciousness! in Ancient Kem they are baboon and Ibis of Djehuti -

One of the issues is that if some people use their natural technique they fall asleep, which is not what they're trying to do at the time.  I am not one of these people, but I've only have varying success with doing what I usually do to relax in bed (as opposed to using various relaxation techniques not associated with what I naturally do).
