What happened to the Research on Near-Death-Experiences?

P.H.M. Atwater: More medical people are now willing to consider
the reality of the near-death phenomenon and the effect it has on
experiencers. Much of this turn-around in relative acceptance is
because of "Pam Reynolds's Case" that was reported on in
cardiologist, Michael Sabom's book "Light & Death".
