Have you been able to confirm that you are physically moving while in the lotus posture, such as by opening your eyes and seeing the motion continue? I have also had motion from being in the lotus posture, but it was a feeling of rotating to my left in a way that should not have been possible.
There has also been leaning in one direction for me. The problem came from not starting out sitting up as correctly as it felt. As the relaxation set in the muscles holding me up would gradually let go.
Maybe it is energy and maybe you really are moving. If so, it should go away in time.
I don't know about the lotus position, however I do get the same kind of rocking motion when I am sitting in certain positions and some times when I am laying down. This happens to me the most when I am totally relaxed.
Question. Does it seem to you that you are rocking in conjunction with your heart beat?

yes cainam, i suppose the only part of the body you cant relax is your heart, hence you becoming incresingly aware of it as your body relaxes.
hello to the people :D
whenever i meditate in the lotus position i usually rock back and forth slightly, im wondering what this is if anyone knows???
ive thought its either.....
1) me not being fully used to the position, hence my muscles struggling to maintain this alien position.
2) the effect of the lotus position- that being a clear pathway for energy to travel freely round my body, and it is the flow of energy causing me to rock.
i hope it is the latter in any case.
i also notice that when im in this position i can feel my heart beating, and it can sometimes increase, again i thought it gets faster because it is an effort to maintain this position OR is it my heart chakra????
could anyone clear things up for me please?
