The Rose Cross is an interesting symbol, and as Adrian said there is much lore usually associated with this symbol.
In Esoteric schools there are 3 main flower symbols:  a lotus, a rose and a Lily.  The Lotus and the Rose symbol represent the ultimate union state of being in one important sense.  They both open from within, and in response to stimulus by the Light.  Enough said.  The Lily relates to the Fleur de Lis symbol...the flower of Light.  The design of the Fleur de Lis represents a Light body used by a group under the direction of Sonat Kumara and his brother.  A  true Light body like this when built by corect procedure enables one to fashion what some call a "diamond body" within which one can travel pretty much anywhere in this or adjacent universes.
As to groups who use the name "rosicrucian"...they are usually of varying types.  I prefer not to discuss them or their working in a public forum.
For those interested in plumbing the depths of the arcane lore, a first starting point would have to be an ACCURATE glossary/dictionary/lexicon of Sacred Geometry or Gematria.
Gematria exists because several ancient cultures, as did the more modern Hebrew, Greek and Latin, used letters as both letters and numbers.  Thus a word would have a numer value as well as a literary one.
Thus if one is in a True Rosicrucian Order they would study, for example, literary Cabala as well as the numerical or practical cabala.
In principle a word's numerical value is a key to possible other interpretations.  If one has a numerical value, then all other words or phrases that have that same number value would be related in a, perhaps as yet unseen relationship.
Symbols are commonly used for this purpose.  The deliberate obscuring of meaning is only intended to throw dust in the eyes of the profane.  The true student, having entered an Order, will be given the Gematria he/she needs for their work.
When you encounter material concerning the alleged hidden meaning of the cabala or the Bible or the Koran, just keep both feet on the ground as you read it.  To much dis-information is published on this topic these days, so the sincere student, I feel, may be put off by some of the wild prophecy claims or"meanings" alleged to be in the Bible.
One way to get acquainted with the True and Invisible Rosicrucian Order is to get the book by that name by Paul Foster Case.  It is an excellent treatise on Gematria basics as well as an accurate use of Gematria in expounding on the symbols of the Rose Cross Brotherhood.

Adrian

Greetings everyone,

I am grateful to one of our members, DJM who many of you might remember for his excellent postings on the Essenes and similar subjects, for bringing the Rosicrucian website to my attention.

There are some lengthy and very interesting documents contained therein which are well worth a read. The main site address is:

http://www.rosicrucian.com/index_1.htm

And the information to which I refer are under the heading "Reading Material".

Particularly worth a read are:

Mysteries of the Bible: http://www.rosicrucian.com/rbm/rosicrucian%20bible%20mysteries.pdf

The Light Beyond Death: http://www.rosicrucian.com/lbd/the%20light%20beyond%20death.pdf

These are in Adobe Acrobat Format.

I don't hold any particular views one way or the other on this information, except to say that a much of it conforms to the ancient wisdoms. I would be interested to hear members opinions.

I will make the topic sticky for a time.

With best regards,

Adrian.
