Soulmates are not something that you can look for and find one. Just like love. It's something you have to create. It's something in your head, not just a person who happens to be your soulmate or love.
That's what I think...

The issue of what exactly may be a 'soulmate' would be better served in our Spiritual Development forum rather than OBE Discussions. As you can see this topic has been moved. If you disagree, please PM me and we'll work something out.

Regarding 'soulmates', I am no expert. However, I do think that we work out arrangements to share physical realm experiences with others before we incarnate. That also would apply, in my opinion, to someone that becomes a spouse or life partner.

Twin Souls Meditation

In everybody of us there's a deep yearning for that special and wonderful person with whom we can share perfect and unconditional love. This is not an utopistic fantasy, but a remembrance of an ancient state of unity between us and our twin soul. Esoterics teaches that everybody has his own twin soul and after long eons of separation now comes the time of twin souls' reunion. We are entering namely the age of Aquarius - the age of twin souls.

So we are BUILDING A NETWORK OF LIGHT. This network creates a powerful energetic field of Light and Goodwill that on the spiritual planes helps humanity to raise the consciousness of twin souls' presence and so it helps also for their encounter on a physical plane.

We are building a network of Light every Wednesday at 21.00 Greenwich Mean Time with following meditation:
Calm your thoughts and emotions and relax your physical body.

Sound the Great Invocation, silently or aloud:
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return on Earth.

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men -
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the center which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the plan on Earth.

The Great Invocation helps us to tune with spiritual energies of the divine Plan.

Visualize your twin soul approximately 1m (3 ft) ahead you. Try to feel its energy. Concentrate on that energy for a minute.

Visualize Light approximately 2m (6 ft) above the point in the middle between you and your twin soul. Create a triangle of Light by linking your heart chakra, heart chakra of your twin soul and the source of Light with glimmering golden threads.

Link mentally with other triangles across the world.

Finish and affirm the meditation by saying "So be it!"
Meditation should be short and intensive and should not last more than 5 to 10 minutes. It is advisable to do it properly every week so that the invisible helpers, who build the network of Light on higher planes, can count on us. If our ability of visualization or twin soul's energy perception is not developed enough, thinking about our twin soul during meditation will do. After the meditation we can draw a picture of our twin soul or write down characteristics we would like it to possess. So a powerful mental picture will be slowly created and it will come nearer and nearer the truth as we continue with our weekly meditations. Each week the energy of our twin soul will be more easily percepted and gradually even a telepathic contact could be reinstated. It is good to refresh the mental picture of our twin soul shortly before the meditation.

Learn to be happy being alone. As soon as you reach a state of single utopia someone is bound to come along and screw it up.

On a related note, I had an experience indirectly with this. Someone I did not know at the time told me that she did this sort out of body thing to find someone for a friend of hers. This experience led her to me. Well it did not work out very well between the two of us so you may not want to put much faith in such a thing.

Instead of looking for just one person, share your love with those you do know. Planting the seeds of love will produce more love. You will have more rewarding relationships with more people, and some day maybe you will meet a "soulmate" but if you do not it does not matter because you will have many loving relationships. And if you do meet someone special, you will have developed yourself to be a loving and caring person for this person.

I personally do not believe in soulmates.
