First of all, everyone I talk to about this, including religious types thinks I'm a little "off". Maybe so.
When I meditate, I will follow up with prayer. I often have questions for God so I developed a way of communication with him that has worked well over the past 10 years. I will ask God a question and he will in turn reply with a click or a pop in either my sinus cavity or ear canal. One pop is a yes and silence is a no.
The other night I was getting answers faster than I could ask the question. It was one of the best sessions I've ever had with "management" since I started this practice!
So, I was wondering, does anyone else do this and if so what method of confirmation do you use?
Hi jub jub
Mustardseed is proficient at this too.

As you can see, it's one of the longest and most viewed threads we have. You may come to your own conclusions about this. It sure makes interesting reading, whatever your views are.
(Mustardseed - hope you don't mind me jumping in to "point you out", as it were :) )

Hi jub jub
Beg, steal borrow or buy a copy of Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch. With what you're discovering, you will find it fascinating! You will also find that speaking with God is not something that is only for priests, mystics & messiahs.
Blessings,
James.

I have done the catch basket technique but have received confirmation of god/a god. The only question now for me is what exactly is god. Partly how I found out was talking to him just as you are :). It has been said that meditation is listening to god and that praying is talking to god. I sometimes combine the two as you have done and find it very beneficial. Yes, I have also experienced where I would receive answers faster then I could get the words out of my mouth or thoughts completely across. The ear pop thing is interesting though. Never really had something like that. I get the thoughts and expressions and sometimes a vision. And sometimes he doesn't answer for a while, but every action I have seen coming from 'god' is usuallly having a very good reason. Try activating your third eye before hand and during next time.

Hi Oath,
I use to talk to god that way and would get answers via thought patterns. After years of not knowing for sure if I was hearing from god or from myself, I came to the conclusion I was hearing myself! lol
This new method takes the ambiguity out of it, at least I feel that it does. Of course when dealing with supernatural phenomena, who really knows what in the heck is going on.

Hmm, I agree, sometimes I do think that I am hearing myself, and sometimes I am hearing other things, and others a mixture of both! Really quite confusing, I am thinking the ego has a lot to do with the clarity part of the issue, which I am working on suppressing at the moment in order to gain enlightenment! :D Also, I have noticed that certain other beings like maybe an arch angel such as michael will sometimes answer on behalf of god and do things on behalf of god.
Have you received any mental images? And also was I clear enough on the third eye/ ajna chakra?

I have on occasion received images but they were blurry and I believe a manifestation of my sub-conscious. As far as the third eye, I understand what you are saying but I have yet to try it! I might try concentrating on the third eye this AM when I get up to meditate! I'll let you know if it has any affect!
Jub Jub & Oath,
The conversation you two are having is great! You're both exploring something in an open minded way and finding answers. Well done!
I have some thoughts for you that might help relieve some of the "is it me, is it God" confusion, which is a very common issue for people who start opening up to higher sources.
Don't be too concerned about whether or not what you are hearing is you or God. When you are tuning in to your higher consciousness, what many people refer to as their "higher selves", there is little to no distinction. Consider that we are part of God and God is part of us.
What you're looking for is the difference between God-you and Ego-you, (does that distinction make sense?). This is something Oath, that you've already become aware of.
There is a very simple test here for the thoughts that are coming to you: Do they come from a place of love, or a place of fear.
All thoughts have at their root one of those two sources. Thoughts rooted in love, are of God, as the essence of God in all things is love. Thoughts rooted in fear are from Ego, or at least that part of our Ego that would take us away from love.
Start looking at the thoughts and images you recieve, and determine if they are at their core thoughts of love or fear. You'll very soon start losing your doubts, and when that happens, your spiritual jorney will really take off :)
Blessings,
James.
James, I've read about this before, about our "higher selves" and that they are actually part of God, just as we are. If that is true, then what I'm understanding is that all consciousness is God and we are all part of the collective, if you will. The thing that makes us individuals in this realm is our individual brains which act like filters between us and the collective...the "whole". Is this basically the gist of it?
If this is true then God lives through all his creatures vicariously! God is able to experience what we experience at once. So by praying to God I'm actually am praying to myself or the consciousness that is part of me. But there must be distinguishing characteristics between spirits as well, right? I'm confused as to what defines individual spirits or consciousness from the whole or God.
I believe Mellen Benidict talks about this in his NDE.
http://www.near-death.com/experiences/reincarnation04.html
Excellent understanding Jub Jub! :)
It's our self awareness that ultimately defines us individually.
Though all spirits are all parts of the same whole, part of the same Source, each spirit, each piece of the whole, has its own individual sentience. Each piece is consciously self-aware. This allows each spirit to view existence from its own individual perspective. Over the course of lifetimes, the individual perspectives give rise to individual personalities and characteristics - the soul - the means by which a spirit percieves its experiences.
This individual awareness is not just the result of our physical forms. We don't loose it when we pass beyiond the physical. As a medium, I speak to spirits, what could also be described as non-corporeal souls almost daily, and every spirit I interact with is as individual as I am. Our individuality is intrinsic to our immortal souls.
There's a lot of differing opinions as to exactly what the difference is between spirit and soul, so I won't confuse the issue any more by going into it further, but that's the way I relate to the two.
Blessings,
james.
James, thanks for that wonderful explanation. It makes so much sense that one wonders why everyone doesn't "get it".
Oath, I got up at 4:30 this AM and began meditating concentrating on the "third eye". As I concentrated I saw a vision of a star burst with an eye located in the center inside a triangle, much like on the dollar bill! I wasn't trying to see this image but it appeared never the less! I also witnessed flames a short time after. I have no idea what they may have represented. Maybe a little research is in order to find out what that was about.
My prayer session was a bust with no answers coming or going. Maybe God is taking a break or on vacation.
What I find interesting is, the more I meditate and pray, the more I want to and desire to. In fact, if I don't pray and meditate once a day I feel like I've missed a meal or something and I get irritable. It's my daily dose of Mo Jo!
I always thought about trying to speak to God in my dreams but i'm a little afraid for some reason. I usually try to contact my guides and angels.

Wow, that is an amazing experience! I am interested in hearing what sort of thing you are able to find out on the vision/image. I just might do a little research of my own :).
It's nice that you have a desire to meditate and pray the more you do it. Sometimes I go months without talking or praying. It's nice though that when I do pray again after a long while, there is nothing putting pressure on me or trying to punish me for my absence, except my own conscience. The reason is that sometimes I need to step back and take a break from it.
Once, not too long ago, I was talking to myself (as we all do) and thinking about somethings that were of serious nature. I was very distressed over the matter(s) and so I spoke to god on it. I asked him for help, no reply. It upset me that he would not respond, and I lashed out against him a bit. I caught an 'attitude' and eventually told him/it/her to F*&^ off... After a short while I started to think about what I had done and why I was getting so upset. I thought that god probably does hear me and that there could be a reason for there not being any sort of noticeable reply. I was open to the possibility of me being wrong in the fullest sense and everyone else including god being right about the matter. In short I learned something and I said sorry to the creator and told him that he is right. I receieved a thought form that I interpreted into words and It went something like this: It's ok, Im god (as in yes, I am right, I'm always right  ). It was comical, I laughed and then I receieved an external feeling of laughter and the traditional image of a guy sitting in a massive stone chair laughing his butt off  :D
Oath...I here God has a sense of humor! And why not, just look at the giraffe or a hippo!
Anyway, this is what I found for an explanation for fire either in a dream or vision.
"Fire has many meanings which can be positive or negative. On the positive side, fire represents passion, transformation, illumination. or purification. On a negative side, fire symbolizes rage, anger, destruction, and pain."
I would like to think that I'm going through a purification process because Lord knows, I need it. So many skeletons and so little time in which to remove them!
http://diviningyourlife.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=108 This doesn't go into too much detail but since you asked for shared experiences this one is pretty dam good :) Happened yesterday.
Oath, I'm not sure I'm understanding what's going on in that thread. There are some missing bits I think. I also noticed in your post you mentioned a pain in your bosom. Last night I felt the same thing. I've never experienced that sensation before. It was like a sharp jabbing pain right where the sternum is located. Very weird. It was short so I didn't pay it much attention. Perhaps that particular Chakra was acting up...if there is such a thing. Is this what you felt?
Peace
Could you give me some more info? Be more detailed? The feelings I was having yesterday had a profound impact, the strange thing is that I was forgetting things very quickly, they started to fade from my memory almost seconds after having them. Im thinking this may have something to do with the certain types of energy I was using. Also I feel pain like this quite often with Kundalini being awakened and very active. Its natural so it has only been once that It was where I couldn't handle, I had a friend help me out though so it worked good. What exactly is it that you don't understand? I am thinking I should edit the post and write some more before hand mostly on the details and then let them read the conversation?
QuoteOATH1986: darn
OATH1986: i want to ask her how long the demon has been with me
OATH1986: I'm getting confusing numbers
OATH1986: not clear
OATH1986: or something that means infinite but weird like
OATH1986: so meaning long enough?
TomSKinney: You'll always get as much as you are ready for and no more.
OATH1986: why? what will happen if you get more then you should be ready for
TomSKinney: It is just a good rule to keep in mind.
OATH1986: im feeling something strange in my bosom, almost like pain
TomSKinney: You can only get more than you think you are ready for.
fugymunkeyboyz: Get used to it. I feel it all the time Wink
TomSKinney: Yes, something is ready to be released.
For instance, the beginning of the thread, who is "her" and what numbers are you referring to. I'm not quite clear on what you're trying to convey.
I'm always open to other people's experiences. In fact, I enjoy reading them, as long as I can understand them. Remember, I am somewhat new to "new age" spirituality.

The pain I felt was a short , sharp pain near my sternum. It lasted for approximately 1-2 seconds and that was it. It occur ed during meditation and shortly after I had a vision, a vision of a bright light with a person standing in it. That was pretty much the extent of it. I was just curious what it was that lead to your chest pain and now I understand it might have been associated with Kundalini. Maybe I'm experiencing the same thing as you but I just didn't realize it!
I hope your friend can help you work through your memory loss problem!

"Her" is Gabriel. It is unclear what his/her gender is. Everyone has a different opinion on this. The information is hard to decipher, it mostly doesn't come in clear understandable sentences, it comes in emotions and thoughts, which you have to put into words. I asked her how long a particular demon named Glasya-Labolas who has been trying to posess me and generally make me miserable and take a tool I have from me for its own puposes (power) had been with me. I suspect a few years.

What is this new age? In my experiences there is much fraud here. I don't think there is really any such thing as it. Be careful when dealing with others who claim this. Stay away from all the negative ppl, or ppl that make you feel bad. Find those who compliment you.

I saw your introduction. I have been having a lot of abilities open up lately and think I should practice a bit. I cant quite tell wheat the message is, It looks to me like a feeling of something funny or playful, but I thought the word chakra? I think im probably wrong but no harm in trying.

I would certainly hope so. I would not be able to call myself a mystic otherwise :) Yes, this does seem like a common problem though in the general population, with the online forums of spritualist, occultists, etc.., whatever you want to call them, is usually much better though. The bad thing about it is that most ppl who generally try to get along sometimes lose control when someone else who is in a particularly belligerant mood says something nasty....which seems to start a sort of chain reaction which causes a vicious cycle of never ending strife. I wish people would realize what is happening and learn. Take the next step!

Hi Oath,
I deleted my Intro message. It was a little too late and a dollar short and kind of stupid to boot. That's what happens when you drink too much wine! *hic* lol.
The person in the light was probably representative of a loved one. I was trying to help someone cross over who was stuck in this realm. Long story, don't ask. According to a friend who is a medium, we were successful! Thanks again my friend!
If you're having problems with negative energies, just tell them to take a hike! You have dominion over any negative spirits that try to mess with you. You are a child of the most high and therefore you have the power to tell any negative influence or spirits to leave you alone. Don't listen to them and tell them where to go! Be strong! They feed on weakness and uncertainty, neither of which you should have. Are we clear on this? :)
Peace

Well that is rather interesting how you say this Mr. jub jub :)
The other day I expended much energy which seemed to attract something when I laid down for sleep. I saw it in my minds eye, I only saw the left part of its face though, the majority of it was unclear. It was in fact a dragon. It had a distinctively red eye, was very powerful, and very aggressive. I asked it, please go away. It would not leave. I asked it many more times all the while getting into a sort of battle of wits with the creature. It was communicating me in some sort of emotion thought way. Eventually it seemed I had won, and it changed and then said it wanted to serve me. I told it to go away again. It would not leave, eventually it was satisfied to go away as long as I would think about the offer, at the moment though I needed some rest (And I stil do! ). I asked this being many times to leave me be, perhaps you are right and I must command it to leave, since I was saying please most of the time afterwards. Ok then, will give it a shot, but wouldnt doubt the thing attacking me, in that case I would have no problem ending it.
QuoteStarted getting into occult things.
I started about Febuary when I found an article on the Spear of Destiny. I started researching it, trying to trace its history. When I saw that many ppl and many site claimed magick It got me curious. For the next few months I did some hardcore researching. I did start buying some books on magick and even made an altar but after some horrifying experiences I threw all of the stuff away. Just recently (about July) I started energy work after I met Spectral Dragon. This was not too serious and was only on 'special occasions' until about August. In the last two months is where about 90 percent of my success lies....and I dont look to be slowing down Very Happy
I pulled this off a thread at that other web site you visit. I think I know now why you're having problems with negative energies. You've basically invited them into your life. I wouldn't mess around with that stuff if I were you! If you want to experience real power and spiritual growth, ask God and your spirit guides for help. They will show you what needs to be done.
That's sound advice jub jub!
Oath,
There are a few bits of writen work that I always bring to mind in cases like this. I find them very helpful.
One is from Ted Andrews, from his book Meet and Work with Spirit Guides, where he states that if you ever get in the situation where you are in contact with a spirit that you do not feel comfortable with, tell them to leave. In this plane we are much stronger than any spirits that come to us.
I've taken those words to heart and found them to be true, as has a close friend of mine who regularly channels spirits. Even well meaning occasionally get a bit pushy with her, so she simply, but firmly tells them to leave.
Let your will and your intent carry the power of your words.
The other piece of sage advice comes from a fair way back in time, I think from Socrates - "Man, know thyself."
Something I reccomend to anyone - before delving too far into any esoteric study, delve into your own soul. Get to really know who you are, especially from the point of view of "God within" - your higher self, your intution & gut feelings. Your own soul carries the knowledge and wisdom of many lifetimes, and is your connection to the Source of all. Get to know this connection, and the knowledge and insight it brings you. It really helps to stop you from stumbling along poorly lit esoteric paths or falling into hidden traps.
Blessings,
James.
PURE INTENTIONS take you into your Soul...guaranteed.
