I am not willing to spend money on courses.  I am looking for periodicals and books concerning deep trance meditation.

Hey Timeless!

Thanks for the info! I do like the shamanic webpage. I have a question about deep trance meditation, and this I ask to any who know this.

Can I use a deep trance to change my desires, phobias and habits to ones that I want? Like, I'm an avid videogame player, and I play for a large number of hours in my daily routine, but I really want to start practicing yoga from the yoga book I have (yoga is a physical excersize), but I instead choose to sit in front of the television, chomp on junk food and play hours of videogames. So can I use deep trance meditation to diminish my desire for video games and slothing, and put in my desire for yoga practice?

Dear Good Hope,

I am very much like you, I sit in front of the TV for atleast 4 hours a day playing video games. I just disregard and homework or anything else that I need to do and even other things that I enjoy doing such as meditating and trying to astral project. I have just recently got over this not by meditating but by using my will power.  I just decided I wanted to do these other things more than play video games.  Mind you this is very difficult but I think that this is something that everyone should be able to do.  We all need to be able to consciously decide what it is we will do no matter what the circumstance.  It takes a great deal of focus and determination which are both important skill in any spiritual or metaphysical practice.  I hope you find a way to get past this detriment to your development that works for you.  Good luck.

Links Shadow,

Wow! Someone like me, and he ridded away his lazy addictions! Awesome! Have a couple of questions for ya'.

Do you still find yourself craving to play videogames? Do these cravings pop up at times of the day when you used to have the habit? Do you still play hours of videogames, even when you put all of your will against it?

I find it awesome that you are able to accomplish your goals. Congratulations!

Yes, every now and then I do have the urge to sit down and play one of the Zelda games all the way through, but I look at video games as a treat now.  I mean if I have accomplished everything else that I had and wanted to do, and really have time to kill I will play.

For me I always played first thing in the morning just after I woke up.  This was basically the only time I had to myself and I spent all of it playing video games.  In general though the cravings came in the afternoon.

Like I said, I still have the cravings and yes sometimes they get the best of me.  However, I do always manage to set a limit to how much I will play.  Like today for example I was cleaning my house because I was going to have guests over and I got the urge to play some.  I was unable to stop myself from starting to play, but I was able to keep my playing to 30 minutes.

Thank you, but it is still a battle that I am fighting everyday of my life.  However, I think it is a battle that I must fight in order to grow as a person.  I look at is as a great way to teach myself discipline.

I hope you find a way to get over your "addiction", that is what I call my problem.  Hopefully one day I will get to congradulate you too.

Hello all!

I am really interested in deep trance meditation, for I believe I can use it to get rid of a bad habit of mine.  Anyone have any suggestions of where I should go looking for that material?

Good Hope.
