Hello all,

I had a bit of a transformative experience during one of my meditations today, and I am curious to see how this compares to the way others view things.

While focusing on my breathing, it ocurred to me that my relative position had shifted from the "seat behind my eyes", to my diaphragm region.
Often, people are instructed to "move their awareness" during spiritual exercises, but this was a different experience altogether. What seems a more accurate description would be that I found myself (consciousness) located in the diaphragm region, aware that I was not behind my eyes anymore.
There was no loss of consciousness, my surroundings just... changed? It was very subtle and difficult to put words to.
I was also still receiving all sense inputs as normal, I could hear and feel my physical environment, but that information seemed inconsequential.

I am curious, how does this compare to your perceptions? Do you "go" places, or are you unmoving, while your environment itself changes?

Since this experience, I find it quite simple to quickly alter my perceptive origin to other parts of my body. Could I leverage this new mindset to help me achieve conscious projection?

Below is a copy and paste form another topic I started on the Pulse. I think it's somehow related to your experience in regards to sensations of consciousness change of location and expansion.

"I started something new during meditation which triggers instant body convulsions and electric shock like through the brain. Can you guys test it and let me know if you experience the same reactions. I have never had that happening through the many years of OBE and all kinds of meditation and visualizations.

Sit in a comfortable position (you can do this as you are falling asleep as well) and relax all your muscles especially your forehead and face. This can be done in a minute or two. Then imagine you are sinking into the chair/bed (should take one minute). Then imagine that you are all around your body in a form of energy (exclude your physical body from the sensation). But it's important not to imagine you as a pint of consciousness somewhere outside your body. It has to be the entire energy field ALL AROUND your body in all directions. But you have to imagine it as being you, not some type of energy around you. It has to be you, feel you expanding, just not your physical body, but the energy you only. Then start expanding yourself quickly, like the big bang expansion through vast distances and dimensions. Through the multiverse. Tell me if during that expansion your body starts convulsing.

I bring back the attention to my body as soon as the convulsions start, but if I do this a few times on a row, it seems to subside and equalize.

Now, if you hold that state you can ask a specific question and the thoughts that pop into your mind are most likely the answers. But you need to have the conscious mind out of the way so it doesn't filter through your ego and character. It has to be the larger soul connected and your subconsciousness to receive it from a neutral point of view. You can request a full body scan to be performed and instant healing to be done by the larger soul/God. Let it happen. Observe only the sensations, don't judge.

Pay attention to all challenges in your life including body pain and illnesses, as these are messages about lessons. Ask what the lessons are in order to stop these messages from reoccurring. And take actions to change what needs to be changed in your behavior, thinking, beliefs, etc. The answers also may be given to you in your dreams symbolically. I have done that in the past three nights before bed asking a specific question and imagining my expansion and connection to the greater multiversal mind. I had the most straight forward dreams, very vivid and right to the point. I have made many realizations. IN one dream a snake became a monster and I cut off its head with a sword. IN another I became lost, but asked for guidance and found my way. I woke up and I said "I need to become lost in order to find my way. I need to ask and I shall receive guidance, but I must ask".
I thought I know it all lol, but there is so much more we still need to realize. I have also repeated before bed that I let go of all negative connections that may be affecting me from past lives, people throughout my life, or from my own lack of knowledge. I truly meant that and I forgave all and I asked for forgiveness if I have hurt anyone throughout my existence. I can tell you, the next day I kept exhaling like many burdens are being released from me and I kept feeling lighter and lighter, free of care.

And another interesting thing that I noticed is that more and more I am realizing that I am in a game. WE all know it, but for me it was just the knowing without actually feeling it in daily life. Like, you know that France exists but if you are not there, the knowing is just a knowing and not an experience. Now, I observe everything around me and all happenings as a true game. I was on the freeway today and there were some emergency vehicles on the side of the road with blinking lights. I instantly said "That's a signpost in the game. Someone has created it and placed it there. I looked at the cars, the sky, the hills, nature and my mind was flooded with the "programing" reason behind this scene. I perceive all people now as true avatars with their missions and set challenges. I know that all challenges even the most terrible ones are choices to pass to the next levels, to obtain something in order to remove obstacles and pass into the next level. My life phases change as everything in life is everchanging. Just when I know I have reached a good point of understanding, something happens and I discover more. I tend to not like change once I get to a comfortable routine, but I realized that if we are afraid of changes, life will start sending us messages to face the fear of the unknown and start moving, keep the game rolling. Go to the next chapter, and then the next. Don't get too comfortable in one place. Nostalgia was a big barrier for me, as I never wanted to leave my childhood, or my home, my friend and parents. I suffered a lot, but now I have let go, and I understand now that this life should not be taken so seriously. We have to keep moving and taking changes. Chop-chop, let's go and get though the game like true champions "

This was a great read, thank you! I am always interested in how others experience their journeys.

I will have to try this. Often when I attempt energy work, I get surges of electrifying sensation that seem to cause an involuntary convulsion, like my body is "shaking it off". I get the feeling that interesting experiences await if I can learn to stabilize, contain, or direct this energy.
Any time I have attempted in waking life to levitate as I do in dreams (as a test of whether I am dreaming), there are massive energy surges such as this.

Many thanks,

I utilize motion in all of my NPR experiences these days. It "always" leads to something. I have not found a better technique yet, other than learning how to utilize motion as my focus. With that said, I have had experiences when instead of me moving in a certain direction, the scene was moving towards me. It is an entirely different experience, being that I am not the "driver" anymore. It was rather intense too. There was a few times when I felt I needed to "duck", lol!  :-D  In one experience I had, during a "virtual tug-o-war technique" I was working on, I actually dragged scenes to me. that was really bizarre. I think I wrote about that experience in the "Phantom Wiggle" thread, possibly under my old name "Lionheart".

The Phantom Wiggle sticky is good to read anyways. Lots of great ideas in there. Here is the link to my "Anchored in the Astral" thread.

Yes, my Doorway thread is based on that and has evolved even further to utilizing that. If you want to see my current technique, go to the last few pages of that thread.

Jest remember, Phasing is all about holding your focus any way or anywhere you can, away from your physical body, so the "natural shift" can occur. How you do that is up to you. There are countless methods. I have experimented for years using a number of things.

I developed my Doorway thread through what I experimented with and was actually "taught" in the NPRS. A focus on simple geometric shapes, until your mind begins to create mental associations with that chosen shape. The focus on a simple Mantra that I use as part of my "ritual". A bit of energy work or targeting different areas in and outside of my body, and lastly, moving into the 3D darkness that is now I am now seeing in front of my closed eyes. At that point, the shift in my consciousness is well in progress.

Wow! I tried this technique this morning and had some very promising developments. Ideas started to unfold by themselves and if not for an emergency phone call, I may have made it out!
I am excited to experiment with this technique further. This is easier for me than Frank's phasing method, because I have not yet figured out how to observe the lights/colors without activating my eye muscles.

I also had two lucid dreams last night. In one, I had accidentally backed into my wife's car while driving. I was worried until I saw the front end was missing, at that point I immediately knew this was a dream. I floated up through the roof of my car and past a tree. (REMAIN CALM) I thought, excitement tends to end these experiences. I started a slow ascent to space, but as usual my vision went black before I reached it. (CLARITY NOW, VISION NOW) I attempted to command to myself, but as I suspected, I was awake and looking at my eyelids again. Worth a try, haha.

In another dream I was laying in bed, but it was my bed from my previous house. Knowing I was dreaming, I laid in my dream bed and attempted a phasing technique. A portal opened within my point of view into space, it was like having tunnel vision, and there were more stars than I have ever seen. I looked through this and was blinded when I accidentally came across the sun. My vision was black, and I soon realized I was again looking at my physical eyelids.

Thanks for posting these links, I feel I am close to beginning new journeys!

You are already there. At least "consciously aware" of it that is!  :-) Now the trick is to deepen the experience, so you can lengthen the time you spend there.

There comes a point in your practice when you leave the physical eyes behind and begin to view everything as a single point of consciousness. 360-degree vision. No need to turn your head to see behind you. You will know when you are there. It's another one of those "holy sht" moments.

Woah, I feel this all the time! I have been training myself to feel this "shiver" at will my whole life because it's just so dang weird and interesting. I am super excited that it may prove useful!
In fact, any time I try to levitate in my physical reality, this shiver comes on strongly. It was like learning to flex a muscle, and is second nature to me now. Thanks for your help!
