I often see images of people walking around when I close my eyes when its dark enough. Recently, I havent been able to. Also to note I am trying to form some sort of contact with my inner self/guides etc. So...
(this is only part of the story)

I wondered who I could practice 'looking in on' and I heard a 'me'. After some Q&A 'me' turned out to be a white owl with all black eyes. I watched him for awhile, practicing whatever I could see with my eyes closed and he turned into a brown owl. I asked if he was a shape shifter and he turned into a crow/raven. He said I should speak to my 'spiritual mentor'....

I asked myself where I should to meet him, knowing some part of me already knew..I saw a water fall so I followed the river down into a gully. The water disappeared and the sides of the gully grew and grew. I reminded myself this was what I had asked for and I did not need to be afriad. The top/surface closed up way above me forming a tunnel where a huge white dragon was coiled up and blocked the whole tunnel.

We talked (i was seeing, tunnel vision and blurred against my eyelids though he kept telling me to open my eyes every now and then) when a flash of a clear almost HD image appeared in my mind. The top of a head with an extra set of eyes on the forehead above the two 'usual' eyes. They were slightly larger and the iris' were all black. The sudden visual made me jump and my ears began to ring/buzzed. Then the swam of people re-appeared, though this time they were sparkling white dots inside the shadows with hints of green and my eyes started to flutter. It was like my 'senses' suddenly developed. I wasnt scared as such but was determined to take it all in before it faded...After a few seconds hoped this wasnt anything physical.. like a tumor, imagine... me thinking they were visions and it was a growth.. I was really pondering this when it began to stop.

Any idea would be great, i find it real helping to have idea when I hear feedback from someone just reading it.

For extra info, it was night time, I was laying in bed. No meditation, I was just comfortable and the visuals happened all on their own without me starting off.

Ask your mentor what the images represent.

Jilt

Animal totems (in particular, hummingbirds, wolves, bats) have recently been showing up in my borderland (between waking and sleeping) world so it's always helpful to look online for their symbology and see if anything rings a bell.

Both owls and ravens are considered messengers, guardians and symbols of wisdom and magic. Here's what I found for the raven:

"There is a lot of mythology surrounding crows and ravens.  For instance in Greek mythology, Apollo instructed a crow to watch over his pregnant lover.  In this myth, crows were white.  But when the crow brings Apollo bad tidings about his lover, he turns the crow's feathers black.  Good or bad, crows and ravens are represented as guards or sentinels.  Ravens are said to keep guard over the Tower of London in England.  As the legend goes, should the ravens ever leave the grounds, the Tower will fall.  Ravens still inhabit the Tower to this day.  This brings in an element of magic to these corvids, and magic is something ravens are strongly associated with."

Your going in a gully to a tunnel is a classic 'getting into your subconscious' symbol.

Here's what I found on the white dragon.  "White is associated with hope and purity. Though dragons have traditionally been considered malevolent in the Western world, Asian dragons (especially white ones) are associated with benevolence, healing, and sometimes even bringing the rain. They were a symbol of royalty, and both they and their images were considered to bring luck."

And don't worry you have a tumor! It's a gift to have the occasional vision and there's so much going on in this one have fun interpreting it for awhile.
