Hello dear friends,

How do you manage to meditate in a noisy environment? I usually meditate every day, but there's been some construction work going on nearby, and I simply can't focus. Is there any way to meditate when it's loud? How can you get some quiet time in a big city anyway? Please, share your thoughts.

You need to internalise.

The main battle with meditation is to quieten your conscious noisy thoughts. If there is a noise going on around you.. it's not the noise that's bothering you... it's your thoughts that the noise is bothering you that is truly bothering you.

If you learn to quieten your mind... external noise is made irrelevant.

If I find i cant seem to find time.. space or an environment that I am happy with to meditate in... then I am making excuses. I am listening to my thoughts too much. I have on many occasions forced myself to try and meditate or practice TM/OOBEs in a noisy environment... at work... while the TV is on etc.

It is certainly good point, but...how do you quieten your mind/thoughts? I find it extremely hard to do when there's a lot of noise around.

Thanks for your answer.

If you can't shut out the noise with your mind, try using Earplugs or Headphones. I have 2 Chinchillas here. Chinchillas are nocturnal and they can make quite a bit of noise while running on their wheel. The entire cage shakes during that.

So, when I try to Phase at night time, which I often do, I just shut the sound out with my noise cancelling Headphones. Usually I start with a Binaural Beat MP3, then when it's done, I am already in the zone. From there I just ignore their sounds and stay the course.

It works pretty good!  :-)

I've learned to meditate even on a noisy, bumpy train... it certainly wasn't easy at first either.
You *CAN* learn to shut out everything going on around you.  It just takes time, patience and practice.
I haven't fully projected yet while on the train yet, but I have had many remote viewings and seen scenes, hypnogogic and full scenes many times so far.

I have never meditated in a noisy environment. But Lionheart has given the wonderful suggestions to shut out the noise with our mind like try using earphones or headphones. I will definitely try this method also.

I always say, why fight something when you don't have.

I agree, Meditation can be done anywhere, anytime, day or night, loud area or quiet.

But, technical advances have given us tools to find different ways to achieve this. Why not use them?

At least at first. Do what it takes to familiarize with the NPR consciously aware.

You can always abandon the tool later and access it the natural way.

Just getting there is the battle for most people right now!

I have a player with an mp3 of OM sounds. Works fine for me. Some others are with rainy sounds and binaurals in the back. Works fine too.
