Hello
I am new to this forum and this is my first post, so be forgiving if I placed this post in the wrong forum or something.

Here is some info on me:
I am a 21 years old student at a university in Sweden.
In the last 6 months I have cultivated an interest for "spiritual matters", because I have had some experiences. I have read a lot of books on lucid dreaming and astral projection. I have also tried meditation, which brings me to the following question:

Have someone any experience with the meditation program developed by Higher Balance Institute, which is listed in the link below?

http://www.higherbalance.com/meditation_home.html

Kindly regards nibor

Tom

Yes, it is my favorite so far of everything I've tried. It is even better than Centerpointe's holosync program, which was my previous favorite thing to use.

nibor

thanks for the reply.
Have you also tried monroe institutes gateway experience program? If so, how do you think this compares to the two already mentioned?

Someone gave me an MP3 copy of Wave 1. A lot of people here are happy with it, but I'm not one of them. It just irritated me too much to use regularly.

I'm sceptical about it.If one would really get results so much faster than with other forms of meditation I imagine everybody would be doing it

Tom

If meditation can reduce stress, raise intelligence, slow down the aging process, and increase creativity then why are so many people spending so many hours every day watching TV?

Most can't be bothered to go beyond a fairly basic life. If that sounds harsh, try talking to a nice cross section of general joe public sometime :-).

I had occasion to work in some places where I was exposed to lot of folks who really did believe life was about beer, football, women (t*ts and arses) and TV. I'm not just being prejudiced, that was exactly the experience I had. I won't label any one section of UK population like this alone but a large number of people seem to subscribe to the "simple" life ideal-I don't mean simple in the nice way but the celeb/footy/chav (uk word) type way.

There's gotta be similar in the USA and other places too? Ones who look at you funny if you talk about anything more complex than last nights tv or sex? If you haven't met those folks yet, then hmm..maybe you got lucky LOL.
May your [insert choice of deity/higher power etc here] guide you and not deceive you!

Hi nibor,

I haven't used the Higher Balance program, however Tom's endorsement carries a lot of weight with me.

Also, I wanted to mention this single cd that I've had some success with. Here's a link: http://www.brainsync.com/titles/deepmeditate.asp
The cost is minimal at 14.95, and the site offers to return your money if you're not completely happy with it.

Thanks for the link Nick.
When you listen to cd:s like those, can you use whatever headphones you like, and get pretty much the same results, or is some more recommended than others?

Nick

Hi nibor,

For my part, I just use a small light pair of headphones. The kind that come with those "walkman" type portable cd players, for example. Try something that won't be uncomfortable. I also have a large pair of Sennheiser noise canceling headphones, but they're too bulky for listening to a binaural cd.

Very best,
Nick

Okay, it's not necessarily a scam, so I'll simply say he wants you to pay $149 for 6 CDs. Take that as you will. He uses many advertising tactics.

I'm really wondering whether anybody else has any thoughts on comparing the Monroe Institute and Higher Balance Institute Cd's.
Treat everyone with kindness and consideration. You never know what battles they may be facing.

nibor

Well, I got the feeling that Higher Balance Institute has not been around for that long. But the site does not tell anything about it. Does anybody know when it was founded? Years ago? Months? Does it offer other courses than the foundation?

Tom

It has been around 15 years now in Oregon.

There are many more lessons which follow the main program.

You're right; Eric doesn't really give people enough information to make an informed choice about whether to buy.

Wave 1 and Higher Balance are not intended to do the same thing, so it us difficult to compare them.
