There are two methods I generally use to deepen my trance state. The first is to count backwards from a number like 10, 25, 50, or 100 as needed. If that doesn't do it for me then I will focus on physical relaxation for a while, starting with the feet and moving up to the top of my head. The reason for the relaxation is that an inability to go deeply enough into trance often for me is because of not having relaxed enough at the beginning. Something I have been meaning to try involves using a dial or digital display. You can visualize it and suggest that it start by indicating your current level of trance. Then adjust it to the depth that you are looking for. It might be helpful to have an indicator for where you are at and a separate indicator to control for where you would like to be. Then the process won't have to be rapid for you to see it starting to work. Instead you can watch the indicator of where you are at in your trance move closer to the indicator with your goal.

patience. forget time and just let yourself relax. this is why you should, ideally, have a few hours of free time when you do this. just forget about wanting to do something fast, or wanting to do it slow, just let it happen. don't worry about how long it takes, or how short it takes. ignore the desire to rush into it and just let yourself fall into what seems like an infinite nothingness of peace, where time is irrelavant.

i often find that impatience, and the desire to want to do something as quickly as possible, are good contributors to preventing a trance state.

Hello everyone.  This is my first post here.

I am wondering what techniques all of you use in deepening trance.  I have achieved a borderline light trance/full trance state consistently.  Usually I go running then take a shower and meditate for a half hour to clear my mind, then lay down for trance work.  The methods I have been using is the falling technique, and a letting go technique of my own, and controlled breathing.

I usually experience an expansion of body sensation, and fuzziness in the legs and arms, and disinclination to move.  When I feel the expansion sense, I usually try for an OBE, and depending on my focus, achieve exit sensations.  But no luck so far  :(  

So perhaps any of you could give me some of your own experience with how to achieve full trance?
