Two questions....feedback please! Thanks in advance...
1. While meditating I got to "the zone"...wow...anyway, as I was in it I noticed that my body was rocking back and forth, very very very slightly, but it was unmistakable. I then realized that my body was doing it on its own. With the smallest bit of effort I tried to stop and it would not stop. It started getting slightly stronger by the second (but not in a scary way), my right leg then twitched, and that was the end of it. What was the rocking?
2. The past few nights I have had some truly deep meditations. Each time after I have come out of it I have had headaches...nothing painful, but very noticeable, and they last maybe til I fall asleep. Why the headaches after intense meditation?
THANKS!!!!
The first sensation, the rocking, may be intense energy movement. There are some things, such as the "Circulation of the Body Light" rituals used by the old Golden Dawn order that can cause this sort of thing on purpose. It was even written in one book that I read that this ritual was recommended to be done with watchers, no to guard against possession as most people on the outside thought, but to catch the ritualist if he/she fell!
The second sensation, the headaches. If you are circulating that much energy, perhaps you aren't devoting enough time to "coming down" when you end your meditations. The result is that the exercises continue out of your control, and the natural movements that you are doing disrupts the flow, causing, basically, meditation hangover. The easiest way I have found to stop this is to come halfway out of your asana and rest in that position for up to a minute while not trying to move energy. Just let everything settle down.
Hope this helps.

I would agree with this. It does happen for me too from time to time, with meditation. Nothing to be alarmed about. You have just created a lot of energy which is circulating through your body.
Quote from Bloodsong: "If you are circulating that much energy, perhaps you aren't devoting enough time to "coming down" when you end your meditations." This is likely the problem. You need to make sure that you ground your energy before coming completely out of your meditation. One method is to send the excess energy back into the ground beneath your feet. Visualise or feel the energy rush out of the base of your feet down into the ground below you. You should also ensure that you do some grounding things after meditation, such as eating something (wholemeal bread, fruit, a meal, etc) or having a drink of milk.
WoL,
I honestly have never done those types of grounding. :) I always felt that if I am a being of this divine energy, then I should be able to contain it. Rather than "ground it out", I just wait for it to settle down. No ill effects, and I noticed that my day to day energy levels have grown since I started.
I wish now that I had done these types of grounding to compare the magick side of it, but to change now would be rather difficult, and my intuition screams that it would only hurt the level of effectiveness, so I am hesitant to try. But anyway, what I was getting at was "grounding out" just doesn't seem as effective to me as "settling in".
Oh well, to each their own, eh?

Bloodsong,
I only really do this type of "settling in" if I am preparing to do some kind of magic. Otherwise, if I have a day to face, I need to be grounded and be able to function in the physical world to my best ability.
I don't see what carry around this extra energy would be really very useful for in the physical world. As far as my understanding, I am filled with such an amount of energy to help lift my vibrations and work with spirit and those entities that wish to commune with me. Once I have done this in my meditation, I need to "come back to earth" and do the physical stuff.
I feel that being able to channel any "excess" energy else where, and being able to channel it in in the first place and then back out again, only strengthens my connection with the cosmos. I know that I still retain plenty of energy within me, for anything I will need to do, it is only the "excess" that is channelled out again.
You are right though, each to their own!! :D
Wow, thanks to both of you. I feel that I understand more now. Yah, I am rather new to meditation (but not spirituality) and will take all the advice, help, tips I can get.
You hit it on the head when you said I may not be giving myself time to "come down" and what not. I do get back to "the so called real world" rather quickly.
And the rocking thing was not scary, but I was curious about what caused it and why it happened. Now that I know, I am encouraged!
Thanks again a million times.
